i've been telling people for years that this is the best movie ever made. it's pure entertainment, something modern movies forget they are supposed to be.

Kurt Russell is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. He can do it all and does it well!

Jack Burton's quotes are legendary. Can you imagine if Kurt played Han Solo in Star Wars? What does that mean? "Force is strong"? I don't even know what the hell that means. All I know is this Vader character comes out of thin air in the middle of a goddamn hallway while the stormtroopers are shooting everywhere yet still can't hit a target, and he just stands there waiting for me to shoot straight through him, with red light coming out of his sword.

Fun fact: this movie was one of the main inspirations for the Mortal Kombat videogame franchise. MK creator Ed Boon, has stated in interviews that they pretty much based Shang Tsung's look on Lo Pang and Raiden's design is based on the henchman who shoots out lightning here. So... thank you John Carpenter & Kurt Russell, not only for giving us a kickass movie but also helping in the creation of a beloved videogame franchise. Also, young Kim Cattrall was smoking hot!

This movie teaches you how to fight, talk to women, settle gambling debts, back your friends, work as a successful entrepreneur, and basically punch way above your weight on sheer obnoxious confidence. Jack Burton is America.

I absolutely love this movie. Jack Burton, the sidekick who is convinced that he is the hero. In reality Wang Chi is the hero. He has the hero ark. Restaurant owner who's girlfriend was kidnapped by an evil, supernatural entity has to fight against all odds to get her back. I think people back then didn't understand how ahead of it's time this movie was. PS.: Kim Cattrall was an absolute eye opener.

This movie makes me want to get a degree in quantum mechanics and engineering so I can create a portal to alternate dimensions, where this movie was a huge hit and started a series of “Jack Burton” movies like the “Indiana Jones” franchise… a better world.

When this movie was new in the theaters, 17yr old me went to see it and was blown completely away! Now here we are in the 21st century, 2023 an still NO ONE has been able to match this gem.

When this came out on VHS, we watched it all the time that summer. God today's movies suck and I really feel bad for the kids who don't have role models like Jack Burton. The end scene when they ask him if he's going to kiss her goodbye and he says "Nope". Just legendary!

What I loved about this movie was the end. He LEAVES the girl Doesn't kiss her doesn't fall for her and they drive off into the sunset. He just LEAVES. It is insane and totally breaks the norm.

This movie just transports me to my childhood in the 90s. That ultra comfortable feeling of being sucked in and enjoying a movie as a kid.

I know now she has a terrible reputation for being a diva, but Kim Cattrall did look good in this movie. That look she gives Henry Swanson at the end is pure, take me now, I am yours, territory.

Kim Cattrall is so sweet in this one, I love her. John Carpenter and Kurt Russell are one of the best duos ever. We need more films like this!

This movie might be a perfect thing. And a flick that's legitimately something special - there's NOTHING like it. An actually unique "stand alone" thing that hasn't even been duplicated, let alone repeated to death. And it's sooooo good. All they have to do is leave it alone and NOT make a follow up.

One of the finest movies made. Not a single moment is wasted. Exposition arrives with new characters, action moves along the story and everything fits together perfectly. Wonderful fun.

Totally awesome choice. "Big Trouble" and "The Thing" are two of my favorite movies ever, John Carpenter and Kurt Russell were a terrific team. I saw them when I was a teenager... endlessly quotable, the both of them.

can confirm as a kid I loved this movie. It always sort of pissed me off though there was no second movie. I wanted to know what happened to Jack when he discovered the werewolf lurking under his truck at the end. Alas they never properly advertised its release. They originally thought it was a flop because of low theater numbers. Boy were they wrong, the movie is epic.

One of my all time favorites. Tough to roast a classic but this was well done.

But.. you missed the epic dance scene from the bar in Thailand.. You should review Escape From New York. It really shows Kurt Russel's action hero prowess. There is no other man in history who can mount a 12x scope to the suppressor of a MAC-11, and snipe with it. Even JCVD can't compete with that level of awesome.

I love how the mirrors of the truck show the exact same scenery as the background and it's not even reversed, it's just delayed by a second or so.

The man is a sidekick in his own movie and doesn't realize it. 😂

It's basically a marvel movie where the heroes are regular people and the villain is actually relatable. I don't care who you are, at 900 years old you are gonna be so sick of everyone's sh** that beams of light are gonna start coming out of your face holes when they piss you off.

I didn't notice until I watched the video. Jack has capable instincts that he only access when he is in real danger. Him catching that bottle in the beginning is just like him catching the knife at the end of the movie.

This is unironically one of the best movies ever. I'm so glad I first saw it when I was a kid.
