I read A Fate Inked in Blood without knowing much about the plot except for it being inspired by Norse mythology and I had no idea it was romantasy (although very obvious from the 1st chapter)! So it became my first ever romantasy lol, and I did enjoy it. The "villain" is a bit too 2-dimensional and the world-building and description are not great tbh but I liked the romance aspect very much. And the spice was quite something lol. I would recommend but lower your expectations on the fantasy world.
Same, I felt like the world building and fantasy elements were very weak, which sucks since I was looking forward to the Norse mythology. Me personally, I didn’t like the romance too much either since it was very insta-love 😭😭 the characters were so stagnant and undeveloped. Shame, I had high hopes.
@@greenicedtea8985 Oh, it's for sure insta-love. The attraction was there from the first minute they met! 😂 Definitely not a ground-breaking romance but the story was so fast-paced and entertaining to me lol.
I really liked this and felt that the fantastical elements were strong and weren’t overwhelmed by the romantic subplot. My main critique was that I didn’t always like the decisions the main character made. But overall I gave it 4 stars and will read the next installment. I think she will enjoy it because of the romantic tension between the two characters.
I picked up the murderbot series while I was reading Becky Chambers Wayfarer series and now I’m going through withdrawal and trying to find another AI sci-fi series with amazing characters. I hope you enjoy the rest of murderbot and give Wayfarers a try (I know you read other Becky Chambers books)
With murder bot I’ve heard you should read book 6 of the short stories before book 5 because 6 takes place before 5! A weird out of chronological order ordeal. Just a piece of advice!
What a fun haul! I've been meaning to pick up The Book That Wouldn't Burn and you've motivated me to do it! Also I'm really happy to hear that you're exploring older books. I see so many booktubers with shelves full of books (expensive hard-covers, at that!) from just the last 15 years. There is some fabulous stuff out there from "the old days" before 2005 and I really hope you'll find some books to adore!
You got so many good books in this haul! I thought a fate inked in blood was fun, looking forward to the second book in the duology. And hope have the best time with your Emily Henry summer, I look forward to her new book every year and funny story was particularly fun! Looking forward to reading the ministry of time this summer too. Definitely going to be trying the demon awakens too, it sounds so good.
The demon awakens I am so excited to read it and sounds dark creepy and mysterious and big of the cover this series! 💘❤️💛💘💛❤️🩵🩵🌈💓💗🥀🌺🩷🌼🌼💜💜📖📖🌞🌞🌻🌻📚🌹🌹💗💘🩵🩵🩷🫶🏻🫶🏻🌻🌻🌻💙🌞🌞📙🌺🌈🩵💓
Try prince of thrones series of Mark Lawrence. Its unlike you have read anything. By the time you will finish this trilogy , you will be rooting for an male lead like Ramsay North of GOT😂
I just think it's funny that you both will go to Korea or Japan to get skincare products, but also want them sent to your house. It's peak millennial and I love it. Thanks for the sunscreen PSA. Melanoma is no fun, and it wasn't even my fault because I had strong family history going against me. Also, Murderbot is my favorite character in books ever.
great haul! i absolutely enjoyed funny story. couldn’t put it down. hope you’ll enjoy it, too! you made before we were innocent sound like a perfect summery thriller, so i went and bought the ebook immediately. and i will need to check out the demon awakens.. and i need to get back to murderbot. loved the first book. have a lovely day + happy reading! 💜
'The ministry of time' has such a big polemic behind it! You should check it out, the recently published book is a copy of the spanish original story that counts with a tv series!
I've read the book and the only thing it shares with the TV show is the translated title and themes of time travel. I'm not sure where the accusations of copying are coming from.
I was wondering why it rang a bell. The idea is somewhat similar, but I think hearing the synopsis, there are differences. Didn't read the book, only watched the tv series tho.
10:13 Just a heads up! ‘The Ministry of Time’ blatantly plagiarizes the Spanish TV show ‘El Ministerio del Tiempo’ (both plots are nearly identical, and same title ffs) and there’s even a lawsuit over it. It’s important to support original creators and not endorse works that steal from others. I highly recommend looking into this issue before buying this book, and if the concept sounds interesting you can always pirate the book or just watch the original series instead idk 😊
