This is basically the team saying they don't know their player base and don't know how to keep them engaged so they're making us restart to inflate content while they work on the DLC when all they needed to do was make the manhunts a little less tedious. Congratulations, devs, you managed to go from having a community that was frothing at the mouth for new content, to making them turn off the game and never touch it until the DLC

They keep saying its to put everyone on the same page due to people already being at varying levels. But that doesn't make any sense since we are ALL at the end game. We are all on the same page already. SHD level really doesn't mean much. A 12,000 shd level guy isn't any different from a 7,000 level. We may get some new players, but its not gonna open flood gates open. Its not gonna take that small amount of people to reach lvl 40. The devs are just being lazy by not introducing new content. Instead, I bet seasonal characters will be doing the same control points and bounties with dumb modifiers on like ammo hoarder...

Exactly … this is a five year old game near the end of its cycle … it’s not gaining a large number of new players outside having a hit TV show like Fallout 76 … so, they antagonize and gut their loyal long time player base to create a nurturing home for a nonexistent new player base … and this change is not a hook for new players … I just they would be honest … they downsized the dev team and budget for this game to work on other projects and they are doing things to do the bare minimum to retain player interest.

I think seasonal characters will be going forward for the franchise. I certainly hope not. As it stands the way they explain, I’m already 1 foot out the door. I’m waiting for it to drop to confirm before my exit

Dlc is out next year which will last 2 to 3 years. I will predict D3 maybe 3 to 4 years later.

"There are 15 weeks of varied activities such as Seasonal Missions, Seasonal Projects, Manhunt Scouts and Priority Objectives to be completed with your seasonal character, followed by a 2-week Intermission period during which you can utilize your main character. Your non-seasonal character can be accessed at any time during the Season, but with no access to Seasonal content except for the two-weeks Intermission." So, there you have it. This is Goodbye.

at this point.... they just need to bring out division 3. people are burnt our playing the same exact thing over and over again. a new character with everything that has been in the past 5 years?.... cmon now. i havent played in so long because no new scenery. raids are dry. i only played because of pvp rebalance cause i was tired of people being maxed and others didnt even have expertice

Doing a seasonal character model 6 years after the game has been released is just a slap in the face to veteran players. All those hours I've put into the game would have been for basically nothing. I have over 100 days playing the Division 2. I won't be playing the Division 2 when seasonal characters come out next season. I would have maybe been fine if seasonal character model was done at launch.

Honestly, I would be more happy if this system had meta progression. - Like for each agent that we prepared and transferred (disposed of), we received a unique resource/currency, for a similar system with the watch or a wide pool of unique rewards. Not specialized boxes that are available in the Season Pass and modes vendors (Global Event, Countdown, Desent), and not just a couple of costumes, but a completely separate huge pool of rewards. Like, for example, Deep Rosk Galactic season passes or Helldivers warbonds, and all this is always available for opening and does not disappear at the end of the season. - Or create a unit that can be sent on missions on a global map (USA or planet), as in some mobile games, for individual unique rewards. - Well, and the opportunity to create a companion bot.

They should’ve gave us survival 2.0. Some type of game mode where we can play as one of the hunters in the game with a predetermined loadout going around the map doing missions over for the black tusk . The endgame would could’ve been a battle royale between division, agents, rogue agents, and hunters. I would’ve settled for a remastered division one .

I don't mind the idea of seadonal characters. For me the problem is the sheer amount of menus I'll have to click through again. That's a specific issue for this game.

It would be simple if after you seasonal character reached level 40, can get access to the gear of the primary char, even without expertise. Like we do if the mules. I wouldn't complain about.

So basically every 4 months you will have to grind from 0 and play the main campaign over to experience story progression. Gear doesnt interest me. I have all that I want and need. Deconstruct everything. And I mean everything. Unless somebody lucks up on 13% PFE of course youre going to want to keep that. Honestly, this is a huge waste of resources. For all the time wasted on Xdefiant, Heartland and this they could have guving us actual real content. Instead we have this nonsense.

I don't agree with the negative comments. I didn't know seasonal characters existed until diablo 4 and I absolutely love it. In Diablo 4 none of our mats or lvls get transferred to our MAIN. At least in TD2 our grind is worthwhile . Faster XP, faster endgame makes for better gameplay. Everyone is united and I hope we get global events that unite the entire server. Bring the community together more often.

I don't know what to say. I'm up to give it a try, but I believe it would be REALLY nice if they made seasonal characters optional so you could decide whether you want to use them or not. I also think that having to create a new character every season would be REALLY annoying for everyone, with the veteran players being the most affected by this new mechanic. Let's hope they listen to the community and make the right decisions.😕

All they had to do to balance between new and old players is unlock all difficulties from the beginning of the season. I know that's probably a lot of work but that is the solution.

Or they could have just added a Legendary world tier to counter the strongest builds and have Legendary difficulty in the new manhunts. Not everyone is overpowered, so instead of nerfing gear and weapons like they used to do, to counter the power creep theyv'e just decided to nerf an entire swathe of players who have put time into building their characters as strong as they can get. Me haven't played in quite a while, was looking forward to something new coming , but starting from 0 everytime in every new season is just not going to bring me back.

this game was already dead when they decide to divide the player base with the dlc. i remember on td1 doing all missions to get exotic caches on reset every week just for the fun, matchmaking was easy to find ppl even on incursions. with this game if you want to farm something on any time you are gonna do it alone. what's the point of having every build min max on this if there's no noobs to carry or show off how powerful you are. i left this game for destiny 2 where i have almost 11k hours and i don't regret. also they don't ban players when devs are stupid and fuck the game up. ppl that are somehow hyped for td3 are clowns that deserve to learn it the hard way lol

HSD level does not matter. I have six accounts 24 characters are proven multiple times. I will start with a brand new account fresh character 30 to 40 countdown for a loadout, then right into incursions & raids. In under 4 to 5 hours. So all this dev talk is bs

Experience the story. Stop. Get the rewards. Stop. Update library. Stop. All before level 20. Stop. Tranfer any loot worth not being deconstructed. Stop. Immediately go back to main continuing the real grind and wait multiple weeks for the season to end deleting a worthless seasonal character. Go. Rinse and repeat. That's some really great immersive game changing content. 😂

Seasonal characters aren't even a good idea in Diablo. Why play at all if your progress is just reset every few months.? It kills immersion when theres not a character for you to invest in.

It fits diablo and path of exile bc if your a blaster you can take a character into endgame in a day or two and have a min maxed character in a week capable of doing anything and thats as a casual player. The same can't be said for div 2.

They are using what remains of D2 to flesh out how D3 will work if it even goes ahead. Ubi does not care for the long term players with this game. They want new people to buy more cosmetics each season. This a wake up call to anyone loyal to the game. They are a business and only want to churn out money as fast as possible.

So after hearing this all, we’re getting a more linear, Ubisoft-controlled, flash-in-the-pan experience because of the lazy answer “balance.” If we want seasonal characters, we can go play one of the hundreds of games that already have that junk in them. I don’t want EVERY game I play to wipe progress ever 1-6 months, that’s why this game was so great from its inception. As a dude that traveled, dealt with personal obligations, player other games occasionally, etc… I could always come back and pick this game up where I left off. Now I can transfer seasonal XP and items to my main for… what exactly? Why even play your main if they’re locked from current content? Someone make it make sense.

Only main characters can have Legacy Manhunt or global event availability, and will have access to future zone DLc, and you can bring your mains into the last 2 weeks of a season. If players still cry after this, then they aren't worth investing in anyway. We need game modifiers and reasons to play beyond what's going on now. This is the right direction.

@@LurnWell Seasonal characters means that we will still need to do the same routine over and over again but now we have to start from ZERO each season !!!! How is this better ?! I am doing that already in games like POE and Diablo 4 and it's CANCER in gaming. I play games like this for the progression! To get better and better. To have top items etc. Not to have all my time invested in games reset every few months !! When we finally get to where we want us to be, we are getting reset. We are getting older, not younger. @CrashBashL Seasonal characters DO NOT have access to legacy manhunts or global events. You can do the exact same thing you've already been doing when the new season starts with your main, including playing the new story DLC...The seasons will have things that alter the entire game...There's nothing for people to cry about.

I think it was on purpose they did this. Division isn't woke enough for the new Ubisoft. So rather than kill it, they will let it burn out like a dying fan motor. Seasons 2.0 is a death sentence for the game.
