Mate, that Bara!!! You guys catch the coolest critters down there!! Ice is off the lakes pretty much now, we've had some wicked forest fires though that have put thousands out of their homes, even a few friends of mine had to evacuate their places. The Spring spawn is happening right now so most people leave the fish alone, besides the water is still only like +2 or 3C but we do have some bright and sunny +28-30C days on the way so fishing could start again soon!! I have had a big hankering for a feed of Yellow Perch which I believe are close to your Redfins only our Perch are only 300 - 500g for the most part, although I did catch one stonker of a Perch in Manitoba when we lived there that was easily 1kg! Things are good, I'm seeing a surgeon to get a date to operate and fix my shoulder sometime soon I hope. More importantly, my blood sugars over the last year have been low enough that I am no longer an insulin dependant Diabetic!! I still have pills to take, but no more Mr. Pincushion!! Other than all that everything is right with the world!! As always my Love to You & Tal and the Pups, take care and we'll chat again soon!! - Dave
mate thats great news about your insulin mate! You have to be stoked about not being a pin cushion anymore haha I know the feeling about craving a certain fish for dinner at times of the year. We have our sand crab (blue crab or flower crab for you guys) season just starting here and they are my all time favourite!! But the wind and rain is set in here now so it'll be a while until we are back out on the blue stuff and able to get amongst those critters. Hope you're keeping well mate keep in touch and keep positive! Sounds like all is going in the right directions so keep it up legend :-) Big love from us and the pups :-)
Cheers mate glad you enjoyed it! Yess they have some power the old Barra! Maybe an XOS carp on steroids would be as close as you’d get over your way haha
Awesome Barra and great vid. Light gear is my life, good fun. I’m pretty sure I was out windsurfing on this very day. Yep, it was windy and cold. Great fishing weather 😂
Great ep Brett 💯🍻🎣 coldly in hand as always enjoying watching you out and about bloody good Barra mate. Your a legend as usual helping out with a tow. 💯✅ Have a good one mate cheers 🍻
Another awesome vid mate and bloody cracker of a baz. Them little river G’s go hard too haha… always wanted to chuck in there for a flick… what’s the rocks like for a 5m boat??? Cheers legend
Cheers mate! we've hit ground multiple times in that system in our little tinny man since the floods there are a lot of shallow bars rocks and sand. If its a 5m plate boat you'd be ok but may have to get put and push occasionally if you do come unstuck haha. I personally don't take our glass boat in there though too risky in my books but everyone is different in what they are willing to risk haha
Lovely fishing boet , what brand is the baitchaster you using? You need to get you some bassman spinnerbaits they are in Australia promise you won't regret it thanks 😊
Hey mate love the videos, mainly the creek ones. What sounder you running, with live scope, thought the boat was meant to be a budget 😂. What are the prawn imitation lures your using, they look so good?
Haha the boat itself is budget my man haha that sounder is the same one I use in my bigger boat I just swap it between boats as I use them. I built them that way to save $$ on multiple units and keep it budget friendly 👌👌 it’s a lowrance HDS live with active target. Can’t remember what prawn I had on mate I had a box full of different ones just kept swapping until I found one they ate haha
Cheers mate! Yess it’s definitely helped mate I’ve been dialing it in over the past few months and although it doesn’t make you catch them any easier I am finding a lot more to try and catch so overall it’s increasing my odds for sure haha
Not winter as such mate but the start of our cooler weather… we had a SW wind kick in which is the coldest direction for us here. When you’re used to sun and sand you feel the cold 😂😂🥶🥶
Could you please let me know what creek this is? I live in Brisbane and wanna know if it's possible for me to get to these locations (within a reasonable time)
Bit of both mate... over the years i've kind of managed to find the best times for certain fish in certain areas. Every area is different just a matter of spending some quality time out on the water and taking mental notes of fish activity :-)
