I have so much more respect for you guys after this last hunting season. 2023 was the first year I actually went way out into the mountains and tried to catch up to a deer in the woods. Hunting my property will never feel the same again. My friend and I caught up to a buck a couple times but he was a smart buck and he knew those woods well. Long story short we never tagged a buck but I would hang a 100" buck that I tagged and dragged out of the mountains as high on the wall as any 200" buck I shot on the edge of an ag field or a food plot. You guys are legendary hunters.

I think it was Mr. Jefferson who talked about luck as - “when persistence meets opportunity” - love the hunts. Learned a ton, thanks.

This morning I went out trying for one last time to fill my mule tag. There was a fog all morning and into the afternoon. I walked through deep crunchy snow and down into a ravine. Walked along the bottom for a while and found some tracks and of all things my phone started ringing. Try and get my phone to ring when I need it to on flat land around here and there is no chance. By the time I got it out of my pack the deer was running. The creek wound around a pointy ridge that came down to the bend in the creek so I couldn't see where the deer ran to. I climbed out of the ravine and looked across to the other side and the tracks went up, stopped, then started running straight up again and across the flat on the top of the other side along an old fence line. The deer was long gone. Next time I will make sure to turn the ringer off.

Born and raised in Vermont here this winter, I don't think we ever had a day below 0 or even close to 0 I think maybe 15° or 13° is the coldest, I've got here this year and we didn't get crap first. No I didn't even ride my snowmobile but one time this year. Good Night was only on 6 or 7 inches of snow unless it was up in the mountains. Vermont didn't get crap for snow this year or cold temperatures. Ice fishing didn't even happen in Vermont this year. Maybe on some small inlet ponds. But absolutely nowhere on Lake Champlain that I saw I don't think anything froze, not even killers Bay up in the Islands froze, so I don't know what's going on, but it's not good, I'm looking to be a never mind. I don't wanna make money. I don't wan to be on RU-vid. I just want free venison. I love it. I'll even take front shoulders, I don't care. I have a super awesome way to cook those all-in-one piece. Now that my book is complete , thank you , I know nobody reads these and that's cool

That spot's not gonna be gone or ruined because of power lines. Sir, it's actually gonna make hunting a lot better. Think about it. You can play all kinds of Sugar beats or Whatever you WANT. Na plant under the power lines. And I don't know why. But things grow really well under the power lines. And don't ask me how I know, but it isn't anything illegal not in Vermont anyway or Maine for that matter. That's gonna be good, bring the power lines. You're gonna like it, believe me. It's gonna produce some beautiful deer and some bigger horns. Once people start getting good food planted in there for the wildlife clover , And all kinds of goodies. I think it's gonna be a good thing if it's not. Let's do something to make it a good thing
