Fitting an overhauled fuel pump on a diesel loco with a Rolls Royce engine at the Llangollen Steam Railway workshop.
Tim is a volunteer at the Llangollen Steam Railway as was tasked with repairing a diesel shunter that wasn't running right. Upon inspection it was discovered that the fuel pump was faulty so it was sent away for overhaul. This short video shoes Tim re-fitting the overhauled pump and getting the loco running again.

This brought back some memories, I worked on RR C range 6 & 8 cylinder engines in dump trucks & locos. Even went to RR at Shrewsbury for factory training. Happy days!

Happy days, good old C6 with CAV pump, I work on the class 43 HSTs as a technician nowadays, however I served my time on with a fleet that had everything from cars to ultra high pressure water demolition kit, gave me a good training, I love the routemaster vids as done a spell with arriva up in Scotland, keep up the good work oh and nice looking “duff” (class 47 loco too)

Bit of advice from an old Aircraft Engineer. Use EAR Defenders, that engine was loud with the door off. Once your hearing goes through nose damage you ain't getting it back even with a hearing aid!

Fantastic job keeping the old locos going I maintained the old class 507 /08s on the Wirral it’s a hard job but they are still running

I maintained the 508s down south for a few years before they were prematurely retired. We were always lucky to be able to call on a chap called Mick/Michael (I think!) That bloke was a genius! I do miss the old girls!
