So the story behind the mv is GD and the girl has been in a long relationship but she became terminally ill and didn't wanna tell GD about it so her and TOP devised a plan so that GD would break up with her so he wouldn't see her pass but taeyang calls him and tell gd that she's in the hospital that's where TOP tells GD everything and says she loves GD
Damn, thats depressing... I believe they shouldnt have made this plan from the beggining and just accepted the truth Isnt this the typical old kpop tho? If im not mistaken? Its kinda similar to mblaq's concepts
@@ahmed38247 This is just a typical kpop and drama storyline. Mblaq and tons of other artists & tv shows have used this type of "story". Its nothing new. American tv shows do it too. Its just a common cliche.
Kahina WhyNot fr I was like really bruh.. you look at the small details that don’t matter but you ignore the detail that does ..the electrocardiograph .___.
1:55 he doesn't curse. He says "I finally realize that I'm nothing without you. I was wrong. Forgive me. 3:50 the tattoo is real and it says "TOO FAST TO LIVE, TOO YOUNG TO DIE". 5:20 😅 she is actually a famous Korean actress named Park Min Young. Her name is also mentioned at 7:41. 5:50 it was the title of the song, it means " day by day". 6:55 BIGBANG's group symbol is a crown. It is also the shape of their group lightsticks. I believe I also heard that the crown used in the MV was a gift from a fan. 👑
Park Min Young was actually in a Kdrama with T.O.P. right around the same time this video was made called I am Sam, or I am Teacher.. I didn't like the show but I loved T.o.p.'s part in it which is how I found out about Big Bang or Kpop in general. This isn't to knock her as an actress either she is a really good actress actually. She has done some pretty good dramas and is one of the most famous right now. Just I didn't really like the theme about a school girl falling in love with her teacher.. love this music video tho.. ever since I have been a V.I.P. and am hoping they come back bigger than ever with a bang!!!
@@InCaseYouDie13 Omg!! I totally forgot about that drama, I watched clips here and there, around 2013 when kpop was introduced into my life 💘😍 but now I can't find it in HD 💔😭
@@AndreaTorresGarza It's on Viki (Kdrama App) if you are looking for it.. not sure about HD tho.. but yeah glad to help you out. She looks so young in it, well they all do, but she does even more.. I keep forgetting that Lee Min Ho is also in it. His part is only seriously 8 or so min. of the whole drama lol.. T.O.P. is still my bias from when I seen that show till now lol, been about 6 years or so.. G Dragon is a close sec. tho.. let me know if that helped you at all..
This song WAS AND IS VERY HUGE in korea, till now, i never heard or known a song that had so much impact and success in korea except from another bigbang hit
Gee, Nobody, Mirotic, Gangnam Style, ITNW, Tell Me Your Wish, Tears, etc. If your talking about impact the Gangnam Style and ITNW(Into the New World) would be the most impactful songs ever. ITNW is used in every protest while Gangnam Style basically introduced the world to K-pop.
This song was really popular as far as I remember - they were very different from other groups and doing things others weren't. I don't recall ever seeing a dramatic video with such a developed story before. What is hard about introducing new kpop fans to old big bang songs/MV is they don't understand how what Big Bang was doing was different than other groups back then and that added to what made them so special and their strong appeal. But seeing how groups are now fans assume it was always like this I look forward to Big Bang releasing new music so new kpop fans can experience in real time how they set themselves apart. They've never disappointed to innovate with each new release and I expect them to do it again when releasing new music
Couldn't have said it better myself. I am technically new to kpop yet, hearing all the new stuff, it was this video this song that made me a BigBang fan. They carry themselves in such a unique way I don't know how to explain it. I don't mean to sound rude but it's like we're comparing men to children. I love the new stuff too don't get me wrong I'm broke because of kpop but I love it!!
@@cmq23 That's what I thought - we weren't meaning the same thing. I was not referring to sappy love type of dramatic, those kind of MVs have been around since MVs started being made in the 1980s
This song is classic. As Haru haru took the charts it solidified BIGBANG name in Korean Pop Industry. With Lies, Last Farewell and Haru Haru, this three shibuya style songs makes BIGBANG a unique idol at that time breaking the "gominam" style. Once awarded as Song of the Decade
They made up as friends because it was all a lie. The friend pretended to date his girlfriend to make him move on, because she had cancer and was going to die. She didn’t want him to go through that, so she broke up with him and dated his friend. That’s why when TOP hands G-Dragon the ring, he says, “It was all a lie”
Bris! you missed the part where she was crying as her hair was falling out and while you were appreciating the beautiful vocals is where the scene picked up at the hospital
So here is how I interpret the story in BigBang's "Haru Haru" MV. First off its not a love triangle like some people first think. T.O.P was doing the girl a favor and they were trying to spare GD the pain of watching his girlfriend die. The girl and GD were in love and the girl got sick and she knew she was dying. She didn't want to put GD through the pain of seeing her get sicker and die, so she figured the easiest why for him to get over her once she was gone was to make him mad at her. So she came up with a plan and asked T.O.P. to "please act like you have feelings for me and that you are stealing me away from GD." Essentially, the girlfriend was thinking that, "If GD is mad at me it will be easier for me to say goodbye and for him to get over me once I am gone." So T.O.P reluctantly plays along. That's why GD is so angry because he thinks his best friend is betraying him and that's why T.O.P acts so smug to make GD believe the role he is supposed to be playing. In the end though everyone realizes that GD needs to know what is happening and he should be there to say goodbye, so Taeyang goes against the girl's wishes and calls GD to tell him the girl is in the hospital and he needs to get there right away. When GD gets to the hospital T.O.P tells him what was really going on and explains the ring he exchanged with the girl and the "proposal" he witnessed was all an act and the couple ring was really meant for GD. The girl never stopped loving him and they were all doing this to try and protect him from the pain of losing her, etc. The sad thing is GD didn't make it in time and the girl ended up dying on the operating table. What you saw was a flashback of what it was like when GD and the girl were happy in their relationship. When you saw her cry and smile she was sad remembering the happy times in her life, which included GD. It wasn't the future, but it was the past. Or maybe what she wished she could have had if she had lived long enough.
Taeyang is wearing the 👑 because it's BIGBANG's logo, and they're known as the KINGs of Kpop. fyi GD created the 1st ever kpop light stick for VIPs and it's a 👑
This was the song that pulled me into kpop!! I'd just moved to Korea and the song was so huge, played in stores and street markets, sung by little kids I tutored. Still love it!
This was my first ever Bigbang song and yes, she died. 💔 Now, as watched Bigbang's earlier mvs, I just can't help but laugh at the way they look back then. 😂 No offense, just a true VIP who can laugh at her idols. 😂 So much love for Bigbang! Waiting for their comeback, complete or incomplete. 💕
This right here was.. man this was INSANEly popular when it came out. It was all everyone talked about like this was the start of the Hallyu wave ( I spelt that all types of wrong)
uncchristine99 Yea I’ve been a kpop fan forever so I know all about BoA,Rain, Lee Hyori, Finkle, HOT, Shinwah, Leessang, ect ...the Hallyu Wave 2.0 didn’t start until probably 2007 ish and that’s when it really picked up. But 2003 sort of set the pace TVXQ, then a couple years later with SS501 and SuJu. When BigBang debuted in 06 that’s when Kpop became ‘Kpop’, like they gain so much more popularity then when the Hallyu wave started in 1999. The new Wave set the trend to the Kpop we know today. The start of Shinee, Kara, T-ara, SNSD, 2NE1, Mighty Mouth, Davinichi, 2AM, 2PM, IU, After School, ... I could go on it’s been so many trend setters that shaped Kpop and a lot of people aren’t 2nd Gen Kpop fans. They’re more 3rd Gen, which to me is so much different then the first two Gen fans. They are ally about streaming, and taking fan wars to the extreme, even those stupid saesang fans are even crazier than before
The song that really started the idol producer trend IMO. It took GD a string of 3 mega #1 hits - Lies, Last Farewell and Haru Haru - to change the perception that idols couldn't be artists, that they couldn't successfully write and produce their own songs.
This song was really huge back then every korean knows this song and the girl in the mv is park min young she’s a very famous actress now. you should watch this song live in their latest concerts. You should react to lies too it was like their first hit the song that made them really popular 🥺💛👑
Exactly! I noticed it the first time I watched it and when it showed her on the hospital bed with the members, I said "Oh no she has cancer", but everyone seems to miss that.
the song that introduced me to kpop! happy you reacted to this, kind of have to know the storyline to really appreciate the song and MV tho, forever an iconic song!
The tattoo says: Too fast to live, too young to die. He even used the quote in his song "Leader" featuring CL, I highly recommend that you should watch their live performance on this one😄
As a #VIP, Haru Haru Acoustic is my favorite sentimental song from BIGBANG!!! Esp when they sing it in concerts! Both Japanese and Korean versions are amazing!
Ok Brisx i think u need to watch again ;) paying attention more to what story they tell in here rather than hoelw they act. And maybe with subtitles ?? Because its such a meaningfull song !! All together musicaly, in korea, in kpop in general :)
Now this is the kpop then. Still love it and miss it. My ultimate favorite group. I remember when they often get criticized because of their looks, music genre and not fitting in the typical kpop scene. 2NE1 experienced the same straight after debut and YG ent was known as the house of “ugly” idols and “no-talent”. Of course after their successful songs they were finally acknowledged and became legends in the kpop industry. Hence why YG has changed so much and now prefer beauty over talent, just like all the other agencies making them the same and therefore lost their uniqueness. Not implying anything. I think YG himself admitted in some survival show that they now consider beauty as a top priority in artists because of everything they faced with 2NE1 and BIGBANG
Oh god it was just a little over a year ago when I watched this mv for the first time and it was the first I ever watched but I had listened to Fantastic Baby and Bang Bang Bang. Those 3 songs are what dragged me into kpop. I remember I was in tears watching it and that’s when I became obsessed
Terry after seeing your reaction to this one, you really need to react to Lies also by Big Bang. Also, watch this one with English subtitles. It just hits differently.... P.S. My brother's name is Terry too! :)
One of their most popular singles and one of South Korea's best-selling songs, besides being regarded as one of the most influential singles to come out of Korean pop music. Billboard hailed the track an "experiential masterpiece" and named it the group's second best song. In a survey involving 30 music industry experts by South Korean magazine Dong-a Ilbo, "Haru Haru" was chosen as one of best male idol songs in the past 20 years. E. Alex Jung from Vulture called "Haru Haru" "the undisputed song of the decade", commenting on the single's influence, he wrote that the song presented a sound that "was once innovative" but it "has since been copied and standardized to the point where almost every boy band now has a charismatic rapper with a booming voice."
Gd : "yeah, finally i realize, that i'm nothing without you, i was so wrong, forgive me" Top giving gd the ring : " "i'm really sorry, but she really love you"
I feel like for this song you really have to see big bang perform it acoustically in concert to understand how POPULAR this song was/is hahaha 😅 the mv might seem funny since it’s so old.
I remember watching this when it was fresh. My friend was like, watch this, it's the most popular song in Korea right now. Massive hit. The music video went viral and there was a lot of parodies on it. The most popular parody was the cast of the top TV show in Korea called Infinite Challenge, made up of top Korean comedians. It was hilarious!
Back in 2008, it's when I was 4yrs old, but I still remember very clearly that this song went everywhere in my country and probably other Asia countries too. 4 yrs old and they had stolen my heart😢
The girl in the video is called Park Min Young and she's a famous actor in many drama and movies, 'What's wrong with secretary kim' drama is very famous in 2018.
One thing you will never be able to do as a new kpop fan. U will never understand the Legendary MVs like this. Something just wont explain itself as the old generation had a certain type of Mvs that required whole heartedness, great plots and so much more. U are looking at an old era with through new era lenses.
I thought the video did an amazing job of showing the story so you didn't need the words at all. For most of us anyway. ;) Brisyou watching this was as frustrating as watching emotional k dramas with my husband where I am totally into it and you are making light of all the dramatic scenes I am totally into.
This is the song that got me into kpop back in 2008. No matter what happens to Big Bang it will always be that song that brings me to tears. For me this is the most beautiful song.
I was around i remember when this song dropped it was so good and to this day is still one of my fav jams! But they werent really fighting she knew ahe was sick and didnt want GD to suffer so she had TOP pretend to be her new man so GD would hate her instead of mourning her...it was and still is a typical kdrama-y move ( they do that alot in kdramas)
In 2008 I remember Nobody (WG), Haru Haru (BB), and Mirotic (DBSK) were the largest hits... And I don't know which of them deserves the National Anthem
Poker Face Yeah. Good times indeed. I was 23, and worked at city hall for the alternated military service of Korea. Those songs especially Nobody and Haru Haru made me enduring such a boring works with minimum pay.
You asking about the VIBE during that time??? That era was THE KPOP VIBE man!! This song holds so many memories to so many people around the world. This song brought kpop to many countries. Myself from India was introduced to kpop through these hit songs, haru haru and we belong together to be precise, also taeyang's wedding dress had whole another vibe. True V.I.P since then.
That's not related to Burger King 🤣 BIGBANG = Kings of kpop therefore crown, their fandom VIP have a crown as a light stick by the way these light sticks that kpop fans wave around these days was GDragon's idea 😊 this song blew up the charts so hard they still sing it to this day theres no person in South Korea or a kpop fan that doesn't know Haru Haru
im not that old in kpop but with this video I could understand why BIGBANG were always a super bOP and always be a bop. I WAS EXPECTING THIS REACTION SOOOOO BAD AND FINALLY IS HERE, THIS IS THE REAL KPOP BRIS
