I've never owned a F91-W simply because of the size being too small. Awesome to know that the 217H exists! Awesome production as ever - dude your creativity and editing skills are immense!
That means a lot coming from a fellow "creator" to use a term I don't enjoy. Thank you. Ya, I was happy to find it. I'm going to pass it along to my eldest. I'm deciding between a Mudman or Rangeman for myself right now.
@@halfpastblog I think you got it right the first time,YES the light and size of the watch is bigger Compared to the original F91,but now you don't get the year listed and the extra 50mms of water resistance. I know everyone doesn't like negative displays and not having multi-band 6,COULD be an issue, for some, but I'm wearing the GX56SL-4 today.
Love the presentation style, very laid back and honest down to earth goodness. Love to see coverage of Casios, even moreso when covered by someone with as much passion. Thanks for the video. Subbed.
I picked up the F91 because I'm starting to go down the Casio rabbit hole- I mean starting a collection. As a guy who focuses on budget EDC, Casio just speaks to me. You have the same wrist size as me, so I'm super excited to watch all your stuff and see how these Casios fit! I've got a 217 on order now for all the reasons you listed, but the F91 still rides in my car so I always have a solid (Casio) watch with me.
There's also a silver variant with steel bracelet of the W-217H called the B650WD-1A. I believe it is my first Casio digital watch. It's not from my childhood days as I bought it over 2 months ago.
Super video as always! I had the F91W and sent it back to Amazon because it just seems so small. I purchased the w800 and that's just the right size with all the perks.
Haha I saw that title card at the beginning. Thanks for the shout out. Very nice and comprehensive comparison. I think the slightly squarish display makes it a bit more unique visually and likely the size difference can be attribute to market placement. Asian markets tend to sway towards the smaller sizes.
I'm glad you saw it! And once my follower watches this video your channel will explode. Good point. I come from a raised on McDonald's Canadian perspective. The same kind of people who keep Invicta relevant.
I have had a w800h since 2015. I like that you get more info on the screen at a glance. Im on my second one because I had a cheap band replacement which broke a piece off the watch and now my second one has been going strong since 2020 but has a nice 10$ band on it now
I returned a W800, because I could not read the small sub-displays, just the large main time digits. What I loved as a teen in the 70s, I cannot read anymore at 60. As a teen, my first "dream watch" was one of the first affordable digitals in the mid 70s. The displays from every maker were all about the same size, about like the F91 and others. Before that, we had not much available that would keep time within 5 minutes a day and did not cost a week's wages, so Momsy was happy about these things coming down in price as well! W96H is BIG! I just have not handled one yet, but it looks, like the rubber strap cannot be replaced with something else in the very proprietary Casio body, and I hate sweating in rubber bands. I need either high contrast analogue, or big digital screens. I used to fix micro-mechanical things without loupes, naked eye focusing from 4 inches away, and read license plates from 1/8th mile away, but now I cannot read these small displays anymore!
I have a Casio W-43H for 6 or 8 dollars ($24.000‐colombian pesos) I bought it in 2012, and its battery is complete. It works very well still, also the light bulb. Only the band has started to crack, but it can be replaced. I love my old casio⌚️
There both very versatile, I've got an ae1200...the 217 in striking Silver & recently the F91 all progressively smaller than the other. For a long time i thought the F91 was too small. But owning one, i've got used to its slim profile. The other two are my "occasional" watches. I do wish Casio would move away from 18mm lug width. 20mm would be far better.
Saya punya casio w 217h,dimasukan kedalam gelas yang sudah terisi air kemudian dimasukan kedalam freezer selama 10 jam hasilnya luar biasa jam casio w 217h tetap berfungsi dengan baik tidak mengembun.. Casio jam tangguh
I've had F91-W for several years, but the strap broke. It's been in my drawer for a couple years. Dug it out and it still works! So, I've ordered a cheap strap. But without my reading glasses it's hard to see the screen, so when the battery goes I'll order a W217-H.
I don't own the F91 but I really like the W217. It's bigger and my hand doesn't bump the light button. W217 or AE1200? I'd still go World Timer. It's functionality is better which a digital watch should be. Not as clean as the W217 for ease of use everyday but that's fine.
I have the both of them and while I agree with everything that you said .. The nostalgia of the F91 is the only reason, and it is a big reason ! I have a 7.5 inches wrist and the F91 is very small on me, but I still wear it strictly out of nostalgia .. The W217 is a much better watch for me.
I still prefer the F-105. It gets the sleek numerals of the F-91W, the compact and elegant size, and the benefit of the illuminator function. This W-217H is too big imo.
95% of humanity have wrists 6.5 to 7.5 inches, so you can see why the F91 is popular. With a 30mm longer strap on the W217 that might be a problem for lots of folks. This seems to have been designed for the Hulk. 😊
Damn bro I paid $18 for mine. Coming tomorrow! I accidentally scratched my F91 inside trying to do a mod swap. Still works fine but the actual paint that makes the dial got flaked off, inside. Bugs the hell out of me, so W217h here we come
