First premier I missed in months 😢 sad day. On the road moving across the country and stopped in Denver. Off to the Denver gem show today and tomorrow!! 🤘 rock on Dan
Hey Dan! Can you do a video on how YOU clean the mercury from these flakes? If you can’t vaporize it, how do you get it off? Also, the funniest thing I’ve heard today was Pauly say, “Dan smells like carrots!”. 😂
Hey Dan? I think you missed something in your mercury explanation. It wasn't just the Chinese miners that used mercury for collecting the gold into a sponge, It was everybody using mercury. The occurrence of cinnabar (the parent ore for mercury) in easten Oregon supplied the entire west coast including B.C. with mercury. A good portion of the miners in B.C. were Americans so everyone knew the usefulness of mercury. Just putting the use of mercury on the Chinese is missing the point that up until the 1970s-1980s we were all using mercury as did all our ancestors. and while our governments have outlawed the use of mercury in gold recovery, I've noticed that they haven't spent much money on the cleaning of our streams. It falls on us to clean up the mess when we find it in our pans, on our gold and in our streams. My father in all his years of prospecting has found almost an entire flask. One little bit at a time.
@@kristineolver3268 at 3:47 he says "this creek has a lot of mercury in it from the Chinese miners" but i don't think he's saying it was only the Chinese that used it in all of BC like the guy above thinks, but in that particular river it was the Chinese who used it
Jeez! What a nice transition at 11:45. I haven't noticed your editing skills so far, (which is usually a good thing) but this cut really stood out. Oh, I did notice early in the video the overly loud and jarring music during your first dig @ 1:43.
Thank you for another great video. I'd love to go panning with you and Pauly. Both of you have forgotten more about prospecting than I'll ever know. You guys are legendary
Arizona has its own public panning stream - Lynx Creek... and thanks to your infectious videos, I've been inspired to give it a try. No gold yet, but still fun.
Love seeing you and Pauly in the same video. Not sure whether sure thing or chance for nugget. Gold here is pretty well fly poops at best, so just to see anything is great! Sorry folks leave big holes oat there. I try to reclaim all the ones I make, but I'm probably 2000 miles or farther from you folks.
Been watching you a while dan! Hoping to visit my finances family in California soon and find a spot to try my first time panning. Thank you for the fun times and knowledge you share.
Thanks Dan, the GLOTD is my highlight. I’m here in the centre of England where there’s nothing in any of the rivers thanks to the Romans finding and taking anything of value away 2,000 years ago.
Hey Dan could you explain one day how you would go about removing the Mercury from the gold that you recover when it's got Mercury nobody's ever shown that
Haha, i chuckled at the river cool off at the start. You are such a lively character, your joviality is so infectious and welcome in the world......thank you for your videos! I do always wonder, when you throw away the larger rocks....do you ever worry you've thrown away a large nugget? I know you have said you don't mind losing 10% as ypu prefer the throughput, and that a 1/4 inch nugget is very very very very very rare....but still......it would always drill into my brain! Maybe that's why I'm not a prospector!😂😂😂 I'd enjoy trying panning i think, unfortunately not much ground in the uk though, what little there is belongs to the crown
Hey Dan love the vids makes me wanna go gold hunting and I loved that last short with 15 oz nugget 😮😮 and the warzone is just proof of how many people actually watch u Dan
Awesome adventure as always and the more the merrier. The gold mining history is sad the way they poisoned the land and rivers. I always enjoy the geology lessons. Yellow rocks are awesome, especially when it is gold ! It would be awesome to see the Pauly-fish swimming around collecting nuggets !!!
Hey Dan you make it look so easy. Got a question for you. In the first pan where you pushed the pieces of gold in one pile there looks like small blue rocks or grains. What are they?
Not a chance, lacks the proper prospectors beard & is a vampire! Lol! He's going into hibernation maybe? Lol! Keep that beard wet, it will cool ya off & grow! Lol!.. 🦇👍🤘🤠
Dear Dan, I’m as fair skinned as you. I LOVE your hat. I have a range of “umbrella hats” - where did you get yours? It’s survived a great deal of wear. Mine never do, only my battered gardening hat…the ugly one. Great video. 😊
Hey Dan, what was the biggest nugget that you panned from the river, and from underground in a mine. I wish we had gold here in Missouri but we don't. Instead we have alot ore and lead. Also we have alot of dinosaur bones. I would love to find a huge nugget. In Arkansas they have a diamond mine, it's strange that each state isn't the same as the states around it. You would think millions of years ago when those ice sheets were moving they would have deposited gold in all the lower 48 states or atleast down to middle of the USA from Canada. Let us know what was the biggest nugget you found in the water, river, creek, along the beaches an banks vs inside of a mine.
Hi Dan, isn't it dangerous for the heart to dive in very cold mountain water when it's hot outside? Isn't the difference in temperature too violent a blow?
Hey Dan I live in Vermont and I go to a cold River and all that way if I have a really good weekend I might find a gram of flake, I'm going to have to come up there to Canada and check you guys out, wish you the best Tattoo Joe in Vermont
I used to find HUGE agates when I was a kid. I'd fill my pockets full of them. My Mom made an awesome place for me to display them. I wish I still had them.. I had a very large chunk of fools gold too.. I was so proud of it! It weighed a good 1LB. I thought it was real for years. I don't have it anymore darn it.. I wonder how much it would be worth now.
So if someone just starting out or learning goes to one of these panning reserves and finds a bunch of mercury covered gold what should they do? is there a safe way to clean them? should they just leave them alone?
It's rare here in the uk iv found couple meteors in the river near by and tiny traces of gold and good for fossils on the coast .its interested how different continents have different hidden wonders 😊
Ah, this is why we haven’t seen much from PP....too hot for him. All the more reason big PP is my spirit animal, Mr, Winter boi. Great vid, Dan, as always
