I’m not a watcher of the sports news/sportscaster shows so I wasn’t aware of Sage Steele. I’m very impressed with her as I listen to this talk and I like her more and more. Much respect for her and her choices, all along the way. Knowing when to stay the course to best effect and when to take a stand when it’s the best to do. It’s all about the pressure and the lesson its Gods timing. That’s when He works. And sidebar, very beautiful woman. Obviously inside and out. God bless!
I agree with you on all points. I didn't know her, except for some of the latest news, but she seems like a very genuine person..like someone you'd want to be friends with. Very good interview, John and Sage.
As one of the 7,000+ employees laid off by Disney last year, this interview hit home and was spot on. Event Integration Specialist in Texas primarily with news on ABC, as well as sports on ESPN on ABC; prior to that it was Fox Sports regional networks. I firsthand know the repercussions and frustrations of being outspoken at work; not sorry. Crist and Steele made a fantastic team for these two hours! Thank you.
“Everyone loves sports.” I may be the oddball, but couldn’t care less about them. That said, it is exceptionally interesting and entertaining to listen to people who love sports talk about them, especially all the broader stuff. Awesome conversation.
BEST GUEST OF ALL TIME!!!!!! John, this episode was a home run! Not only do I just love Sage and loved your conversation and the chemistry and the energy, but it's so powerful and makes for the best episodes when you have people whose personal brands align with yours! The flow is so good you could just keep listening to it, you're not thinking to yourself "how long has this been going on for?/when does this end?" Great job! PS. Tell Sage I loooove her curls, how does she get the front curls to blend and not show the root? just, like, volume on top? I've been trying to pull that off since 1993 :(
Great interview, Sage is great. She’s right about Mcafee and ESPN, some people don’t want to admit it but ESPN is better with him. Her behind the scenes insight is phenomenal on sports media
This was a great pod! I don’t think I’ve ever watched a pro sports game all the way through, ever. But Sage was wonderful and hearing her story was great!
Loved this episode. Wanted to share a tipping situation I ran into the other night when I went out with my wife. I got got, as the they added a 22% gratuity charge to my bill (subtlety), and then proceeded to hand me a kiosk to choose a tip with the options 2%, 3%, and 5%. Not realizing that they already added 22%, I thought to myself “5%? That seems reasonable.” And chose that option. To my dismay they handed me the receipt and long and behold I saw that I actually tipped 27%. My wife and I agreed that we are never going back here. I had some hope for tipping culture as I have recently had better experiences with it, but this was insane! Have any of you ever ran into this? Call it how it is, this happened at Tavalota in Seattle, WA.
