My favorite part in this animatic is where you draw “I don’t want to hear you crying” as the Once-ler himself crying, as if he’s yelling at himself and telling himself to stop crying because he’s actually ashamed of himself but has too much pride and knows he’s gone too far and it’s too late to feel bad. I like that much more than the idea of him yelling at somebody else. It’s a really good twist and a great personal touch to the song by you. Really great animatic!!!

Thank you so much for animating this in 2020! It radiates wasted potential and I love it. The fact that The Lorax could’ve been a rock opera makes me sad to think about. I love your animatic and the expressions you chose for Onceler. This is art.

I miss the old track especially the one called ‘Once-ler’s travelling Madness’ if they were aiming for comedy (which they were though used not right) they missed out a real jewel

I'm honestly still so mad that a corporation agreed to make an anti-corporate consumerism film and then watered it down to be corporate consumer friendly.

0:21 I love how it shows the photograph of himself and The Lorax when he says "who cares if some things are dying." He isn't just singing about the land. He is also singing about his old self and his friendship with the Lorax, the only being in his life who really cared about him, are dying. (Maybe believes that his actions are causing the Lorax to die) Follow up with the scene of him crying so he's talking to himself when he says "I don't want to hear you crying." He's telling himself to stop feeling guilty, give into that little worm called pride, and move forward.

*After The Animatic* *Lorax goes Creative mode while the Spotlight shines on him he rises to the heavens*

super mega like for using my favorite part of the song, always gives me chills, but that with the drawing of him crying in all this denial... oof, I just love this, I will imagine this was the actual storyboard that would've saved the movie

Ever since watch joshscorcher, I have to agree. We were robbed of this beautifully dark song, and we got a more light-hearted pop rock song, instead. Don't get me wrong, How Bad Can I Be is not a bad song, but it does not even compare to this.

Can you imagine how different the movie would have been if they had just included this one song

The scale is too small man. I love the energy, you need that kind of energy for a song like this. But for a song called "biggering" the scale is really small isn't it? I think the best way to do it would be to start close up, the Onceler just started his business and its only started biggering. When the song leads to the emotional climax, gradually pull out more. The Onceler is still the focus, but his creation is beginning to overshadow him. When the lorax starts singing, have him always be overhead, but small. He should never dominate the scene, but always be ever-present. When it reaches the climax, the onceler is already small compared to his factory, but now it's zooms out more to show the full scale of what he has created. He is a spec compared to the factory, as if the factory was synthetic mountains spanning farther than the Trucula forests ever did. When we see his face to see his reaction, it's always overshadowed by the artificial. Have large billboard of advertisements, have signs saying "tree cut downs, nonsustainable." And other media that shows that the Onceler knows what he is doing. When the song reaches it's close, reveal a wide shot of the effects done to the nature. The devastating wrought by the Onceler's and the people's greed. And from that wide shot, we see the Onceler far far away from the camera, still barely noticeable. It zooms in to show the audience his shocked and remorseful face. Only now does he fully understand what he has done.

WHY IS THIS SO GOOD?! YOUR ANIMATIC FOR THIS IS AMAZING!!!

So,what does it feels like,Mr Onceler? All alone,nobody covers your back...that biggering sucks,huh?
