Great haul, Jesse! I love your videos - they're always entertaining, upbeat, and informative. Hmmm...I wonder if the Krampus book is based on that legend about Robert Johnson? He supposedly sold his soul to the devil to gain fame and skill at the guitar. I heard they had a horror house at Hollywood Horror Nights based off of that story. It sounds like that book may be taking inspiration from it but making it Christmas-y.
Well now I want to read some Cozy Christmas stories and I just added a ton of new Holiday horror to my goodreads! I noticed Christopher Golden's name was on 'Hark the Angels scream' and I just started getting into his books. I read his novel, Road of Bones last year and thought it was fascinating. Its about a documentary crew who are traveling the very real Kolyma highway in Russia. The twelve hundred mile long road was built with heavy labor and brute force with orders from Stalin to workers who died on the road and their bodies were frozen under the road itself. Its a grim read and there is a supernatural element to it, but it is a perfect book to read during Winter because of the descriptions of the Cold in this book.
I used to be OBSESSED with Barbie and the Nutcracker and it was always my favorite Nutcracker adaptation...until I watched The Nuttiest Nutcracker. If you haven't seen The Nuttiest Nutcracker, you are in for a ride lol. As a kid, both movies were pivotal to my holiday movie standards. And who am I kidding, they still are now as an adult too lol.
“The Enchanted Sonata” has been on my TBR, but I haven’t been able to come across it ever. I think this may be a sign to just cave and buy it online instead.
Jesse for a good Christmas romance book I would recommend A Castle in the Clouds by Kerstin Gier. It is so incredible and has a mystery in the story which is so good.
This was a great unhaul Jesse! However, the only two Christmas books I ever need are A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and Hogfather by Terry Pratchett. Those give me the right vibes and I fear any other of new Christmassy books would destroy those vibes. Crazy, i know, lol. 😅🎄
I read it last year in febuary because I had no idea it was a christmas book. I still had a good time but I wonder if it would have been better had I read it in the "right" season.
@@sternentalerswald to me it reads like the perfect Christmas I'll never experience, so getting all the festive vibes during the season is the biggest reason I enjoy this book so much 😅 If you like rereading books, maybe you could give it another chance in December
So many Christmassy books and items!! I was not ready for the holiday season reading yet… But your video has got me in the Christmas mood!! Let’s enjoy reading more and more in the coming season!🎄📚✨
I definitely gotta pick up some books for the holiday season . I’m curious about the books you got especially the Christmas horror section I gotta pick some for myself that’s for sure . Looking forward to seeing more of your videos ❤
If you're looking for more wintery, dark fairytale vibes, please check out Gingerbread by Robert Dinsdale (if you haven't read it yet). It's a difficult one to describe/summarize, but I think you'll love it.
i've just got back into reading after years of not reading much and not watching any booktube, and all i have to say is those white bookselves shocked me... my brains used to the black ones 😅
I find puzzels frustrating and usually want to give up on one unless someone helps me put it together. But I enjoy audiobooks and coloring books or drawing.
How many other people spend most of Jessies video pausing to go on Goodreads or to look at his bookshelf? I took it a step further and got 20 pages into his recommendation and then remembered he was still frozen Sorry Jessie lol, but you know how it is!
It's not really Holiday but I'd love if you would read "Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone" by Benjamin Stevenson! Even if you don't end up liking it
