Man I would never in my life go to a random home game in a big city with nothing but a soft vouch from somebody. So much can go wrong.. Not getting paid, mechanic dealer, collusion, etc. shit happens all the time. Glad it went well though. Also, in Omaha you never ever slow play. When you flop top set you should be potting the shit out of it. Both for protection and to charge draws. Because people ALWAYS have draws in Omaha. Also you definitely had the best hand in the Omaha aces hand lol.
This reminded me EXACTLY of when I first started grinding and casinos were not yet legal in most states (i.e. 2006'ish) and finding a great reputable home game to play at was the bomb andI thought I was coming to pay 5/10 NL but somehow the only game running was a game I hardly ever played before which was 20/40 Limit Hold'em lol... And like you, decided to WTH and play anyways and also like you came out ahead around $1500 lol...
@@RobinsonTran Yea 20/40 LIMIT not NL, which like Omaha, has a total different set of strategies, esp in terms of betting and raising... And obviously your "fears" esp in NYC underground game are justified but when the poker table has a shuffling machine you should feel relatively safe that this spot is solid...That said, waiting for sunlight was definitely the right & bright move haha ;-)))
