Snow peak gear is not for hikers, it's for car campers, which makes sense given the fact Japanese people aren't really the multi-day hiking type - they drive to a campsite and unpack. Almost everything Snow Peak sell is heavy and not very portable/packable into a backpack.

The Japanese folks really get into their hobbies. Fishing, cycling, camping, scooters, what ever, always top drawer gear. I have watched Japanese micro fishing videos that blow my mind. My old Snow Peak double wall titanium mug is my favorite.
