We hear that Bulls may lose up to 20-25%(possibly even more) of their body weight, but that also depends upon food factors. The Sheriff seems to have a pretty good balance of activity and down time as he gets older. The irresistible urge to mate with females, the drive to fight other males. Bull elk are among the most magnificent and masculine animals in the wild.

I live in Colorado. These guys jumped an 8 foot fence. No problem. They are bigger than horses. In the wild they will fight or kill domesticated horses.
