Wow I love fish &chips in Brighton Beach when I was there 1981 I use to eat that literally every day and it serves in a news paper with a malt venigar oh I love it sooo much
@@michaelcostello1053i was thinking why did they find it so funny like i hear and say it so much i didnt even pick it up but i didnt think hard enough to consider they not from the uk
I love lots of tarter and I dip my fries in it. But I tried the vinegar at Long John Silver and a Pub many years ago and didn't like it. I think I "did" wrong and added too much. I might try it again.
I’ve lived in the South East, Midlands and now Yorkshire. I’ve visited Fish & Chip shops all over the Country from Cornwall to Hull. This place serves the best Fish and Chips I’ve ever had each and every time!
When I was in Scotland they had hole in wall that only sold fish and chips. I went back for a third serving that night. Best fish and chips I had ever had. It caused me to not be able to get any fish and chips back in the States since I already know I'll get soggy fish and fries that are bland. Wish we had that level of commitment in the States.
@@jimbo1637Definitely as far as flavor goes, but it's incredibly unhealthy due to its high concentration of palmitic acid which raises LDL cholesterol levels, putting you at a much higher risk for heart disease. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palmitic_acid#Research
@@randomoneforstuff3696 True that. But my logic has always been that nothing deep fried is ever healthy. So if I'm gonna eat something that's bad for my health anyway, I might as well make it taste as good as possible!
Now that our government has decided this ill fated attempt at destroying Russia our fish is about to get so expensive it will close most fish and chip shops down. We were allowed to fish in their territory with no tax whatsoever due to an agreement going way back...now that has been closed off to us it will mean huge prices on fish like Cod.
Bruhhhh this would be dinner for my husband and I and it’s a phenomenal price cuz here in Atlanta they done gone crazy two small pieces of fish and cold fries will run u bout the same price but with a quarter of the food
This literally brought happiness to my soul. I would pay 50 dollars, for that huge fish plank! Along with a few Bitburger, frothy pints, or a few pints of Singha beer.
us fishermen would make a living just off of money wasters like you lmao one fish and i got x2 that also that is a very normal to small flay size for that fish you can get far bigger
I have literally travelled to England to eat fish and chips…..I know I could easily make it at home…..but eating it while sitting on a bench outside is half of the pleasure. There’s a fish and chip shop near Wimbledon, awesome.
@@ImMon. Because America is known for having the worst food safety standards in the western world. Even US honey isn’t even legal by UK standards because it’s what’s referred to as “fake honey”. Roughly 90-95% of all Us honey wouldn’t pass our regulatory approval
They think everything here is bland, but don’t realise they’re being pumped with additives and colourings that are banned here. At least we’re not getting poisoned by the food industry here.
Americans commenting on culinary excellence and variety? They’ve got burgers, hot dogs, brisket, fried chicken, mac n cheese, pizza and chowder - and that’s about it. Their arrogance knows no bounds when talking down about other countries cuisine that embraces far more than bbq.
@@voodoo8913 It's not you're typical English gent who are the stabbists, Its all our new Doctors and surgeons performing Intestine removal on our street corners if you catch my drift
@@isopropyltoxicityas someone who live in england i can confirm that you shouldnt come here for food. Literally the only things worth eating are meat pie/cornish pasties and fish and chips. Even then though its a one and done type thing. My family arent what you would call native brits (stereotyped) and anyone i know of that is full english eat the most bland food or cold playters ect. If you want flavour go somewhere else.
I grew up in St Petersburg Florida we had an Arthur treacher's fish and chips one of the best fish and chips I've ever had and it was served wrapped up in our local newspaper. And yes, with malt vinegar if course..
You have to have it with salt and vinegar and wrapped in paper. It makes a huge difference to the taste. Americans prefer to drown everything in sauce for some reason.
In my opinion, one of the best UK spots for a chippie is definitely Matlock Bath. The fish practically jump out the river and into the fryer 💀 It's also a hot spot for Biker gangs which is always cool to see! ✌️
It definitely isn’t the best in Yorkshire! It’s not bad and the portions are generous, but there are better. Whiteheads in Hornsea just won best chippy for 2023. Definitely worth a visit.
No you forgot the salt and vinegar, it brings out the flavour. Mayo...please 🤦♀️ talk about spoiling the flavour! Theirs a reason we use salt and vinegar, it's a palate balancer and enhances the fish's natural flavour 😉
I maintain as a NZer that British fish and Chips are the best nothing better and mushy peas are incredible and that looks.worthy of a visit most definitely
I would definitely need 2 of those delicious 😋 looking fish, one to eat at the restaurant, and one to take home for later on! I would be at that place every day ❤🎉!
Over here you get a few scraps of soggy-oily batter with a little fish inside. you ever have it there you'll have to search far and wide to find any as good here (and it will likely be run by an ex- pat Brit). an ex-boss of mine has found some in FL.
Word. Most fish and chip places I've found in Melb manage to get the chips both soggy and dry at the same time, in the worst way, and yellow AF from the palm oil...
Murgatroyds fish and Chips has been in business since 1994. Not a hundred years as you state. Billy Murgatroyd owned and ran a mill on that site from the 1870s.
@@Duke_of_Prunes I’m guessing you live in the south? If so I know y’all don’t have that many places that only make fish and chips but it’s on a lot of menus. Plus you can get fried catfish hush puppies cole slaw and fries.
@@denitrariggins4886 you’re clearly not from here…every ENGLISH man in the country knows what a “chippy” is…Google chippy and tell me what pops up 1st…🤣🤡
