"all my friends are here, I don't get stressed.... Full size shad are the kings, might even eat the bass.." That was the funniest clip I've seen in a long time! Fishin has a way of bringing out all of our emotions, good and bad. I don't think anyone knows that better than you guys. The Lord blessed you with a safe couple days on the water and enjoying what you do for a living. I respect the way you can rebound from a bad week and wish I was more like that... Incredible journey from start to finish on the tourney trail this year. Can't say enough what you are doing on your channel is unparalleled. From freezing temperatures to downright so hot only the fittest can be out there and perform at the level you do. Top notch (television worthy) videos all year long, with the best entertainment even though what you are doing is not easy. Nothing but the utmost respect!!!

Scott this video was awesome it’s not good for things to be that tough but you kept fishing through it and to be honest it shows us that tough days happen and just because your not catching them doesn’t mean your doing something wrong, just tough days. You did the best you could Scott. I was laughing so hard when you were talking about maybe the fish had died and no one knew yet and also when you were talking about the Shad. I ran into this same situation last weekend. The Bass and Striper in Falls Lake, NC were crushing shad. I threw everything. I fished on top, through and under the shad and caught nothing. I could not figure them out. Also, I was bank fishing. I was saying a lot of the same things you were bud. It was weird and the most difficult fishing I think I have ever experienced man. You will get it next year!!

You had a great year Scott! 2nd place in the AOY standings is an awesome accomplishment when fishing against the best anglers in the sport! Lake Ouachita was extremely stingy for most in the Forrest Wood Cup! As a subscriber I'm really looking forward to next season because the schedule looks like it could be a hog fest! Wow i feel your pain, I fished the professional walleye trail tournament on that lake a number of years ago it was so tuff because of cor changing water levels every day, fish were always confused and moving. We caught a few walleye but definitely more bass. I must say its a beautiful part of the country and very scenic. My hat goes off to you for a greet season, keep up the awesome videos. Someday I will return and fish the lake again. Scott you do a great job with your fans, keep it up. Keep smiling get em next year.

"regular sized shad run that lake" lmao that bit was hilarious btw a secret bass bait around my area is a matrix shad in either green hornet or magneto. Its a speckled trout bait, but they kill the bass! And you can literally catch 100+ bass on one bait

I cant wait to see you back here again next year. It can be a tough lake to fish, even for locals. However, I think a lot of people got the wrong impression of Lake Ouachita. It can be a great fishery too. What most people didn't see is the flooding we had Thursday night followed by the high pressure front Friday (day 1). I think it threw a lot of the patterns right out the window.

I know the feeling. The bass here in GA have been doing the same thing. Literally eating shad that are about 1 inch big. Wont hit a 3.25 paddle tail.

A little trick I have learned when bass are eating little shad like that ( idk if it’s legal in pro fishing) is to throw a crappie jig. Like a one inch or inch and a quarter Big Bite fluke.

Quick little comment for beginning of video only: OUCH!!! Man, Scott, I know your family home up there is historical & sentimental, but I believe I would be having those door-way openings enlarged to the standard height of 6' 8". I really don't think it will affect the historical value of the house whatsoever. Constantly getting the bark knocked off of your noggin ain't worth keeping those short door openings!!!

Man, what a tough tournament! Ya know, if I had to guess, it seems to me like there is an over-abundance of really small bass in that lake. Maybe the state biologists & local law makers should urge area anglers to begin harvesting a whole bunch of those tiny bass for the dinner table. Too many dinks eating up the forage often results in far fewer big fish. Thin that lake out of all those tiny buggers scarfing up forage, and leave headroom for the bigger fish and for fewer smaller ones to eat more & grow bigger????? I know they sometimes prescribe this for smaller lakes, and it works wonders. In 2 or 3 years, more and bigger fish start being caught. Seems like such a good lake too........
