So I watched this a while back but didn't drop a comment. Well I'm dropping one now. This video was very informative for me since I plan and pray my move to Canada in 2021 will be successful 🙏
I’m finally hopeful and grateful for the opportunity to win this IELTS sponsorship because guess what i speak French and that’s great news because i was thinking of using another immigration pilot apart from the express entry since I didn’t have masters.
Can you please make a video on how to network as a immigrant, maybe with a few tips for introverts? As an introvert, networking is what scares me the most. I'm worried that I'll miss out on a lot of job opportunities because of my poor networking skills. Someone once told me that what we call connection in Nigeria is what they call networking in the western world and apparently it is just as important as it is in Naija.
I know a lot of youtubers avoid answer this question directly because everyone's expenses, location and lifestyle is different. But with high taxes, deductions and cost of living (for groceries, rent and other basics) what would you advise (range) someone to look for in a job offer income. Someone who's single, minimal expenses, not looking to start a family and wants to save but also be able to live comfortably and not worry about whether they have enough savings.
Basically they take 50% of your pay packet in tax (was my experience in a major Engineering Company in Ontario). Its as expensive as London, where I'm from.
I'm sorry but you don't start getting even close to 50% tax deductions until you make over $500k - yes, for real. If you make $70,000 a year in Toronto you pay just under 25% tax (if you claim nothing, less if you claim things as you should) - Salary $70,000 Federal tax deduction - $9,195 Provincial tax deduction - $4,488 CPP deductions - $2,898 EI deductions - $856 Total tax - $17,438 Net pay * $52,562 Marginal tax rate 32.65% Average tax rate 24.91% if you make $250,000 a year, you pay Salary $250,000 Federal tax deduction - $59,469 Provincial tax deduction - $36,722 CPP deductions - $2,898 EI deductions - $856 Total tax - $99,944 Net pay * $150,056 Marginal tax rate 52.95% Average tax rate 39.98% So less than 40%.....that engineering company must be paying beaucoup bucks
Don't forget everyone needs to practice on saying "sorry" when you bump into people, or whatever. Canadians say "sorry" whenever necessary. It becomes natural, like breathing. haha
@@FeyiMac I studied English Education in my first degree and I specialise in Adult Education and lifelong learning for masters; what are my chances of getting a job in canada
This is the opportunity I was anticipating. Thank you for making it easier. You are really passionate with what you do. Keep it up. It has always been my desire to move to Canada; but agents weren't encouraging at all as I was defrauded severally. I appreciate the efforts and enlightenment . Now I know better.
Good afternoon Feyi, I'm 29 years old and I lost my job due to the covid 19 pandemic. I already did my ECA but haven't being able to do IELTS due to the lack of funds. I recently started an advanced diploma with ICM through the help of wonderful friends and family members, I needed to boost my CRS score to help my Express entry profile. I'm currently studying for my IELTS through different RU-vid channels and it's being interesting and I'm putting in all effort to get nothing less than band 9. I would like to be one of the lucky winner's of the paid IELTS sponsorship. Thank you for being so helpful and God bless you 😊🙏
I remember the first time i asked the step by step procedures for the Canada immigration program without researching and this channel gave me the opportunity to know things. I will be grateful if chosen for the IELTS sponsorship because do you know that everyday i see a reason or more to leave Nigeria ? Dear Feyi, Every naira counts even if it means starving to achieve the Canadian dream. I’m still the French speaker that intend to write the TEF exam which is twice the IELTS price and I’m still pursuing my transcript in school. Please pick me and save a desperate soul.
I’m a 26 year old with a masters degree,I’ve evaluated my results and I’ve written my IELTS exam twice,I wrote the last one in July and I had a CLB:8. R:8.5 L:9 S:7 W:6.5 The score I had in writing didn’t allow me get the needed CRS score to get an ITA. I would really appreciate an IELTS sponsorship,so I can get my desired results. Thank you 😊
I wish had more than basic knowledge of the way the financial institution works here. Good thing is that I quickly ramped up on my knowledge through google, information shared on new immigrant groups I belong to, etc.
Thanks for this educative video, it is better to be informed and not deformed... I have my international passport, working on how to get my WES done, I haven't written my IELTS
The IELTS will really be helpful to me, have done my WES and made remarkable progress towards me and my family relocation plans, this is a dream for me, as I took IELTs for the first time but I didn't quite get the score I wanted. The give away will go a long way to help me in retaking IELTs. Please make this dream come through.
Hi Feyi, I would love to win the IELTS sponsorship. I am below 25 and while I haven't done my ECA, I am already so committed to moving to Canada that I am currently learning French to boost my CRS score. I chose to learn French instead of waiting for 2 more years to gain 3 years work experience. I will be writing TEF by the end of April next year. I really hope to win the IELTS sponsorship because winning it would take a huge load off my chest. Thank you.
Applying for a Masters, and thinking about the same thing. Will I get a solid job in Canada with this? Can't waste all that effort.😂 I laughed a lot, sorry. Thanks for sharing your stories, Feyi!🙏
Your videos are so informative. Thank you! I am 25years old. B.A. Music + professional qualifications. 3 years work experience. Taken a CRS assessment and qualify under the Federal Skilled Worker Class. Currently preparing for IELTS next month. Would really appreciate that sponsorship! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. Your 'whew' with regards to taxes is deep o😀. It is well. Thank You. Networkinngggg! Every career webinar I attend emphasizes a lot on networking, that it's even making me scared already.🤯 Introvert 'perks'
Thank you very much for this opportunity. I’m currently on my transcript/wes process. I don’t have a masters but I wish to write the TEF which is twice the prices of IELTS so i would be grateful if my IELTS is paid for.
Thank you for all your videos... You don't know what impact you're making in people's lives e.g Me!.... We do not take it for granted. Your videos have really opened my eyes to so so much. I hope to meet you someday🙈. (God willing). I hope I can be picked for the lottery though.
Hello FEYI, good day, really, am done with WES evaluation and I have the hardcopy and soft copy of my report. I will take my IELTS exam soon. I hope these are enough reasons.
Canadians are some of the highest taxed people in the world. It’s crazy. Basically plan for at least 50% of your pay to go to taxes of some sort, income, sales, alcohol, excise, property etc etc. Income tax can be a fair bit different between provinces. For example BC and Alberta are much less versus Quebec and Nova Scotia which are the highest. It can be several thousand dollars a year difference. Ontario is in the middle.
NIVEA depends. Vancouver is a high cost of living yes, but not every city in BC has the same cost of living. Calgary and Edmonton are moderate cost of living. It all depends where you live in the provinces, the tax rate is the same regardless of cost of living. Conversely yes, Quebec has the highest taxes, but a lower cost of living. But the taxes can be much higher so it all equals out. For example, I lived in BC, when I moved to Ottawa my incomes taxes went up $3,500 a year more. Then if I lived in Quebec my income taxes would have been $8,000 more than BC. But there are things you get for free in Quebec you don’t elsewhere. So you have to evaluate. I’m just stating that the lowest taxes are BC and Alberta, and Alberta also doesn’t have a provincial sales tax, which makes a huge difference as well (several thousand a year for a typical person).
@@SailorSea88 I have read a lot about taxes and the low cost of living in Quebec and you buttressed that. I am however not informed about the free things and peculiar merits of living there. Would you please shed some light on these?
Hi Feyi Mac, I am a young professional with an advanced degree in Petroleum Engineering. Though I haven't done my ECA, winning this IELTS sponsorship will put me on a launch pad in my immigration plan.
Thank you so much Feyi for sharing these things. Wow. I will start implementing. I am 30 and My Family is planning to relocate to Canada through Express Entry. We have taken the eligibility test on the immigration website and we are Eligible. We are a family of 5. We are already working on sending our ICAN and master’s transcripts to WES for assessment. I will be very grateful if I win the IELTS exam fee as it will go along way to reduce the financial pressure on us. Already reading for the exam. My Husband is the Principal Applicant and He has 10 years working experience which should be a plus. Your videos have been really educative also. Thank you. I have also followed all the pages you listed. God bless your kind and thoughtful heart plus other sponsors. Looking forward to winning.
Superb dear, Nice informative video., Probably I will go to first on LinkedIn 😂 and try to built up network 😂 Also try to find some clients on freelance also😂😂
There are usually lots of networking events and job fairs, some of them are now virtual. LinkedIn and Lunch and Learn events are also good for networking.
Hi Feyi, I'm 29 this month, I have a Masters degree and 6 years work experience. I have applied for my WES, Unilag has sent my transcript to WES so I'm waiting for WES. I'm preparing for my IELTS but I'm yet to pay for my IELTS. I hope I get to win the IELTS sponsorship. It's my greatest wish to migrate to Canada. If not for anything, but to have access to better health care.

Hello, How do I find organization that can help me fund my studies. I recently got admission to study at the University of Regina. They gave me an entrance Scholarship but is still not enough. How do I find organizations or external scholarships?
@@FeyiMac you're welcome. I want to immigrate just trying to get basic information and I am bit scared , racism is somewhat scary with what we see in the media but I learnt Canada is a bit tolerant.
Hi Feyi, Thank you for the opportunity. I would like to apply for the second and third round of the giveaway. I have successfully accessed my credentials with WES. I'm currently studying for a second certificate in Unilag. I would really love the IELTS sponsorship as I have written it more than 3 times but my results aren't what is required. Also, having the consultants review my applications would definitely do a whole lot in general. Hopefully I am considered. Thank you
Just be careful bringing certain foods on the plane. Customs throws out a lot of meats / plants because of biological hazard regs (evey single episode of Border Security 🤦♂️🤦♂️)
