Kirsty, I watched a few of your videos and started to draw... I drew a couple of portraits from photos of young female models. My parents in law loved them and asked me to draw their portrait for Christmas. I'm a little overwhelmed because I'm totally not an artist. It's also difficult because you have to have a good photo.... But this tutorial helps a lot... It's perfect!!!! I'll let you know how my attempt turns out. Thank you for your hard work.

Which colored pencil is necessary for realistic drawing?

Do you have any tips on how to achieve such fine hair details with graphite pencils ? It's not waxy like colored pencils so you can't really ''remove a layer''... so what would you use for fine details ? gel pen ? gouache ? but how to make it look so fine... I have never been an art person my entire life. Haven't drawn a single thing in 20 years. I recently got a stylus with my laptop and tried doing a sketch on my PC. I admit I know nothing about sketching and don't even know which pen is which. Just started watching some videos including yours. I really like pencil sketching as an art. How difficult would it be to do "pencil sketching" using just a stylus on a PC. As an absolute beginner, I registered for Sketchbook for free and found its features pretty rich. My first serious attempt is now used as my profile picture. During my attempt, I found it really hard to draw a very fine line on PC and I just don't understand how to do those shading and blending. If I am skilled, would I be able to overcome these obstacles? I am using the Lenovo active pen 2 for sketching on my Lenovo laptop. Will the hardware and software be good enough to do some decent "pencil sketching" with some practice? To be honest, I am super filthy casual about doing art and sketching. If I can learn sketching at my limited free time using just my laptop and stylus, I feel like I could keep this as a hobby. I just don't want the hassle of buying all the equipment and "get my hand dirty". I hope I can randomly draw something when I am free.
