About 6ish years ago, my buddy and I were gambling at The Cromwell. He was having a horrible day, so he started betting 1 nickel on VP. He hit a royal for $12.50.
I bet one .25 30 years ago. It was the last quarter I had. I found in my coat pocket. My husband said DON''T DO IT!.. I did. Held one card and drew to the royal. I will never ever forget that moment. I can still see the row of machines and the clothes I wore.
Been there and done that. I had 3 quarters left on a progressive machine at 3100 dollars and didn't think about it and played the 3 and hit a royal flush, it was around 3 am and 1 other person was playing about 7 machines down from me, I was so pissed, and embarrassed. Biggest mistake ever playing V.P.
Hello Andrew! Long time follower and love, your videos and knowledge. You mentioned in another comment section of your videos that casinos can set/adjust a pay schedule. Is a pay schedule different from the pay table or is it one in the same? TY!
One time I was playing a .25 machine with a progressive royal over $2000 but you had to bet 10 credits to qualify, I was betting $1.25 thinking I’d still get $1000 if I hit the Royal, well, I hit the Royal but it only paid $400 hahaha, lesson: always read the paytables
Happened to me once too. I had a bucket of quarters and my friend on the machine next to me ran out of money so they were taking some of my quarters to play. I told them to make sure to play max credits and we can split the winnings. Of course, they only put 1 quarter in and got the royal. $31.25 win.
One time at Mohegan Sun a long time ago before they were doing paper tickets and it was only coins at 2:00 in the morning I found a quarter on the floor put it into a poker machine and what do you think I got on that one quarter a royal flush true story
GREAT PLAYING in the tournament! WOW! and you played pretty close to perfect! That's tought at that speed!! OUCH on the royal! YIKES! $62.50 instead of $1,000
He holds 2 pair all the time when one is a payback. WRONG MOVE! Best he can get is a full boat instead of a quad. SMH honestly. He makes tons of mistakes ALL.THE.TIME especially for his denominations. DAF!
I love watching your videos mistakes and all lol as long as your winning there is no such thing as a mistake well maybe throwing away a royal! I have been playing video poker for 40 years or more obviously my favorite game, but why do you change bets when your winning on higher bet? Anyway keep posting new videos 😊
My very first royal was betting single nickles waiting to watch a show at some downtown casino. I thought I hit a flush but it kept counting up, and realized it was a royal flush. I never bet less than 5 units after that. It was when I was first playing video poker around the year 2005. But I have an excuse...you don't! lol
I have a question. When you play double double, and you get two pair with one being jacks or better why don’t you just hold jacks or better and go for the quad? It pays the same as two pair. I get holding two pair when it’s not face cards.. also, I noticed when you have two face cards you hold them both and go for jacks or better but when you have a face and a ace you ditch the ace?? Shouldn’t you hold them both and take the chance at quad aces.. at least you double your chance at jacks or better.
because the expected value is higher going fir the full house because the full house pays 9 to 1.....the only time u throw away the 2 pair is when you have a pair of aces...it's all about mathematics..what pays you more in the long run...
Congrats on placing in the tournament. My daughter drew a royal on 5 cents 1 coin. She didn't understand why she won such a little amount. I looked over and saw she was on nickles 1 coin. She was so upset. She forgot to change the denomination to 25 cents and max coin. It really hurts when that happens. Thanks for the video.
OMG! On the bright side congrats on placing in the tournament! Don't beat yourself up over not betting max on the royal flush. As you said you would not have gotten it if the circumstances had been changed.
at 10:31 not going for the A235 clubs was a big mistake too. Playing perfect is the way to go. 8/5 bonus with that 1278 progressive might even be a positive game. Well, you showed us what not to do. I don't think I have ever played light in my almost 40 years of playing Video Poker.
I was shocked he made that mistake;however, the cost of this error was only $1.65 because he did hold the two aces. 8/5 BP progressive with 4716 credits on the meter has an ER of 100.02% with PERFECT play. The variance increases from 20.90 to 27.57.
My husband won a Progressive Royal today on quarters. He had max coin in the machine. He warned me…Don’t EVER PLAY ONE COIN IN ON THE BET…For someone who has been as much as $500.00 a hand I don’t get it….. At any rate good luck…
Don't feel bad, popped a royal awile back with one nickle in doing the same thing! I don't usually cuss, but I think they heard me on the other side of the casino!
A true gambler would Never bet one coin or pay one coin. I would literally hate myself if I ever did that! This should be your first and last time that happens again.
Great channel, new follower. Do you know if 5 or 10 hand JoB table would pay out the same odds of a regular single hand JoB game at the same machine? I assume you generate higher comps but is there no odds/payout change besides just 5x or 10x the wager?
If you play single line Derek is the best. 8/5 bonus, free drinks AND a progressive at the Vue Bar on the second floor of the D, 8/6 bonus deluxe and 98.4% joker for a change of pace. Just don't play multi line or carnival games.
$62.50 congratulations, finally you hit a royal flush on a single line !! how long it's been 2 or 3 years, that's almost 3 trillion hands played, so much for 99% perfect play !!
This guy edits his videos to hide all that he loses. In order to get $250 in free play, he has to bet thousands. They froze some of his free play because he is in the tournament? That makes no sense. They probably froze his free p;ay because that's all he was playing and they cut him off.
If that's the biggest gambling mistake of your life you haven't played enough or long enough because I could tell you stories for hours. Anyway, 4 aces with a kicker dealt and you win 400 credits? Bonus Poker is a joke.
They are tournament mode, the RNG is juiced to favor bigger hands. Like DreamCard but on steroids (multiple hands dealt in the background and the best EV one pops up).
Playing Bonus instead of Triple Double is a sin...You lost thousands doing that on this trip...Never ever play less than the minimum, that is the bonus hand...
