I've listened to this song HUNDREDS OF times.. but just today I realized even further on a deeper level how real this is man. All what he's saying was no fabrication.. late 80's- 90's was crack epidemic time that affected EVERY black neighborhood from East to West, North to South on a major scale..Things had definitely changed.

I remember when I first heard this album...I was blown away from beginning to end..'This dude is incredible' I thought. But this song in particular was extremely vivid and chilling. He was literally speaking about my reality. The beat on this song was mindblowing too. who would have thought of incorperating a harp as a loop? That added the darkness to the song.

Only 20 years old spittin like this. I get frustrated when I hear people say "Lil yachty is only 19 that's why his lyrics are basic" nah age has nothing to do with a lack of talent.

This is one of the best rap songs of all time,Biggie was so gifted lyrically.

Ready to Die will always be Biggie's landmark. This is actually my favorite song on the album becuase this was Biggie's realest song on the album

If you're not from NY or weren't around in the 90s in NY, this song will tell you all you needed to know about what was going on in the streets. Perfect commentary on what was going on at the time. One of my fav songs of all time.
