If you dont have Super record, you can use Record. If you dont have Record, you can use Dura Ace. If you dont have Dura Ace, dont touch Colnago Master Olympic.
i agree. Ultegra is a good group, but not on a Colnago. If Shimano then Dura-ace. Else Record or even better Super Record. I got 4 Colnagos, two with Dura-ace 7800, one with Record 10s carbon and the last one with Super Record 11s Ti-carbon, where some parts are Record since no Super Record made.
The contemporary aesthetics of Shimano don't appeal to me. If one opts for black or carbon components over silver, it’s advisable to choose Campagnolo and begin with Super Record. Alternatively, one could select a silver Campagnolo 11-speed groupset and enhance it with carbon shifters from the Record or Super Record range, while maintaining the rest in silver. In my view, Campagnolo 11-speed Athena is the quintessential selection for blending modern performance with a classic aesthetic. I just finished building up an early 80s Picchio with 11-speed SR controller and rear derailleur and the rest, 11-speed Athena and it performs flawlessly and looks spectacular.
Just a suggestion, but if you use a Park tool CN-10 cable cutter, it has a much better cable end cap crimper fora much better look than using side cutters.
I'm wondering why you think it's a 1995 bike. As far as I know, the Master Olympic was made before and shortly after the Olympics, and the later models had a different seat lug with the seat stays not at the outside of the lug, but straight into it.
