Boy, feel ya on the shorts. Wore mine for close to 20 years, then new bike different geometry and saddles. Realized not as limber, and....no glutes to speak of. You many good points.

Top video as always, coach! I have been fighting with aligning my integrated cockpit straight and it’s been a pain in the …. I am gonna switch back to a stem/bar combo shortly for better adjustability. After that it should be time for a bike fit eventually. Been fiddling around with my position for way too long now with soreness wandering from one part of the body to another. But you’re absolutely right with the premium bibs. Since i got me some Le Col ones, life in the saddle has been getting much more comfortable! :-) Keep up the great work and the videos coming. 👍🏼

Thanks for the advice. I did check my stem and saddle. As i wrote before i am a tall rider. About 196cm tall but with an inseam of almost 100cm. I have had alot of issues with numb hands. What is also did is turned the stem to get some more relief. What also helped were some other tips from previous videos. For instance that when riding in the bars i was also one of the guys who kept my arms straight. After seeing that video i practiced to come more down and keep my arms more relaxed. What i noticed by doing this my heartrate was more stable and i was more relaxed. By the way...Arran makes some fine single malt...one of my favourates.👍😉

I am taller as well and the ultimate fix to sore/uncomfortable hands was moving my saddle back. Like... way back the forward most marker on the saddles rails is inline with the front of the saddle clamp. if that makes sense. hands are dream now!

Good stuff, as always. I have shattered the cartilage in both my shoulder joints and there's definitely something going on with my lumbar spine but your tips have helped make what I DO ride, feel better. I can even train reasonably long in heat. I carry one water bottle who's (?) sole purpose is dumping over my head and arms. I live close enough to the beach in Orange County, Ca that water and fountains are plentiful. I am not above taking a "surfer's shower" on those rides or using fountains to refill my "splash bottle". Thanks again, coach

for the saddle alignment you can put a thread on the center of top cap screw then put the other end on the rear center part of your saddle. Then check the front end part of your saddle if it is centered correctly.

Good video coach, you talk about good quality bib shorts, but what about good quality anti friction chamois cream, I ride a X-bionic short and use the QM 4+ cream and find it really helpful. Instead of Loctite on the bolts of the stem and the seat post clamp/saddle rail I use carbon paste this is a great way to secure a tight fit between the handle bar, frame and saddle and prevents those parts from moving and thereby loosening the bolts. Keeps those videos coming✌🏻🚴🏻‍♂️

(Non) pro tip - suffering from excess chaffing? Try two pairs of shorts. The inner ones can be those cheap ones with that crappy thin foam padding and turn them inside out for a smoother seam around the sensitive areas. Works really well for me.

Hey coach great job 👏 👏 I’m pretty much a beginner and probably a bit embarrassed to ask the guys I ride with some questions Maybe you could talk about the simple things that we should know about, how do we stop the nose from constantly dribbling, proper snot rocket etiquette, socks inside or out side of long bibs, how to stop pimples on your ass, stuff like these things that nobody tells you until you do them wrong Keep up the great work

My face plate bolts came loose on my mountain bike the bar turned inward and down my middle finger hooked the brake lever as the bar rolled I went over the bars and broke the bone in my hand May 1 last year I figured I knew how tight never had them come loose before but with carbon bars you don’t want to over torq them, since then I bought a torque wrench and check the fasteners often

Hey. I said before I was on 170mm crankset and was going to try 165mm to open up the hips. Well I’ve been able to source 160mm now. This would get me more aero and really open up the hips, reducing pressure on the hip flexors. So coach would 160mm be too extreme short? I know the saddle will come up quite a bit, what harm can it do apart from climbing steep hills will feel a little harder? It’s a dilemma coach.

Hi coach, what are your thoughts on pedal extenders? As a male cyclist, is it better to have a wider Q-factor by using 16 or 20mm extender on the pedal?
@pskonejott2568
@pskonejott2568 Год назад
I'm using 16mm extender to hit 29cm stance. i gotten this number from repeated step up where feet naturally lands in the most stable form and also the distance of the pelvis-leg joint surprisingly comes close to 29cm as well. pretty good experience there on, no more having a urge to swing knee outwards during a ride. hope this help!

A common definition of space is known as the Kármán Line, an imaginary boundary 100 kilometers (62 miles) above mean sea level. In theory, once this 100 km line is crossed, the atmosphere becomes too thin to provide enough lift for conventional aircraft to maintain flight.
