Bike Train in Jim Thorpe

On this lovely fall day we took the Bike Train from Jim Thorpe to White Haven and then cycled 25 miles back to Jim Thorpe on the Lehigh Gorge Rail Trail. There were so many waterfalls due to the recent rain and some lovely colors still on the trees for us to enjoy!

Hi!!! Loved your video! This has been in my bucket list fir years. I an 62 ( but amazing...lol) for my age. Going through chemo for breast cancer and want to do this!!!!! On a scale on 1 to 10 how hard was this and do they have any “ bs outs” if you can’t make it?? I appreciate any honesty you can provide?’ Peace love and keep on rockin in the free world!

Hiya!!! Thanks so much for watching- this is a super fun trip for sure! 😊 unfortunately the train isn’t doing trips at the moment (there is some fight going on w taxes or something) but there is a shuttle bus that will take u to the top of the trail which we have done several times (look up pocono biking). There are no ways to shorten ur ride so if you start you have to finish (also not a lot of cell reception), BUT you could totally do it!! I have done it with many ppl who haven’t cycled a lot of miles- just plan for a longer day! There’s lots of picnic benches along the trail to snack or stretch ur legs! If you go from white haven - Jim Thorpe the trail is a slight downgrade so very slightly easier. That being said if you still are unsure, the shuttle has a stop at the 15(ish) mile point so you could cut the trip in about 1/2 by starting there, but you will miss some waterfalls. It is definitely doable if you have some cycling experience, bring water and snacks and a few good friends on a nice day! One time I did it it was in July and like 90* and awful- LOL- I recommend spring or fall! Have fun!! It is such a beautiful trail!! 😊 also I’m so sorry to hear you are going thru chemo- take time to go to beautiful places like this for sure- it’s a wonderful trail! 💗 have fun when you go!!!! Rail trails are the best 🚲

It’s ever so slightly downhill, but mostly flat! Such a beautiful area! 😊
