Best tip for a ripped tyre where the inner tube keeps pushing through and consequently breaking are those Park Tools patches that go between the tyre and the inner tube or even a folded money bill, when the hole is small enough where it doesn't need stitches.
This is actually a common misconception as far as I know! Never experienced issues with it, nor has it been proven to either attract or repel mosquitoes! If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me!
Thanks ! The wind was ok actually. That's never been too much of a concern, although I've barely rode on the Alaskan highway. You're going up this summer ?
@@lepedalistan looking at the summer of 2025. I heard that it can snow by the end August up there, so we may set out sometime in June of 2025. Do you have tour plans this summer?
Let me get this straight. You had one plastic tire iron and it broke? You can get plastic tire irons that you couldn't break if you tried. Also. You had one inner tube, no spares? My suggestion. Go tubeless. It will end any flats. If you're not going tubeless, I recommend Schwalbe Mondales. They have the best flat protection and are the best for on/off road touring. I actually uses these tubeless even though they are not rated for tubeless. Works great. Carry a couple of spare tubes.
Well I guess the whole story would have been too long to tell. I'm tubeless. The hole was too big and needed to be stitched, but then the tyre would have require high pressure pump or compressor, which I obviously do not carry. So I use my spare tube, which had about 10 punctures within the following kilometers. So I had to hitch to deadhorse to proprely fix it. I now have much stronger tyre lever now.
@@lepedalistan I recommend 3 tire levers. They weigh next to nothing. You could easily lose one. Glad you're tubeless. I assume you will purchase a new innertube as a backup.
That's a fair point yeah. I actually have one on my multi tool, which is bended but might be usable. Although I guess you're right, I should just get another pedro lever. Glad I'm tubeless as well ahah And Yeah got a new tube indeed, which I'll test more often !
