Jeff! That was probably the best film you’ve made! I love the music, composition - everything!! My wife said she loved it too. She’s now inspired to go there with me, she wants to stay at a bothy! Absolutely amazing work mate. It’s such a nice film!! Also sorry about the bothy bingo. There’s always next time. 🎉
@@jefbricks haha. I whacked up the volume to hear you, then had a telling off from my kids for being too loud on the telly when it went back to the music! 😂
The antler is ‘cast’ around end March to April time every year, the stag then grows a new pair, which are covered in velvet as they grow, hardening in August and then burnished on the ground and vegetation by the stag.
I dont know exactly how it works in Scotland with the bothys, but here in Sweden, there are usually non profit organizations who make sure the shelters along trails has some wood. And in some cases the guests has some with them and simply leave the leftovers so the next guests has something to start one with atleast.
@Jormvngandr they sound great. The MBA bothys in the UK are quite different depending on location. Some have woodland nearby, some can have a road not too far away but there are some that are very remote so 'stocking' them with fuel would be a full time job.
@@jefbricks Yes they do. According to "vindskyddskartan" (the page is in english for those who wanna read) We have nearly 4000 of those shelters scattered around the country. So you can basically plan a trip by going from shelter to shelter. Have in mind though, the are not as warm and cozy as bothies, its just simple wind shelters.
