Knee pain causes. Front of knee: seat too low, big gears, long cranks, hills. Rear of knee: seat high, seat backwards. Outside of knee: cleats toes point in, feet too close. Inside of knee: cleats toes point out, feet too far apart.
It's good to see the warts and all, easy to edit things out and make it all look like sunshine and rainbows all the time. Both enjoy the rest of your trip. ❤
You're lucky to have a main man like Kyle. I can tell he really loves you even if you're melting down and always criticizing his meal choices 😂🤣 Love you guys. ALL relationships have little arguments that makes the beautiful moments beautiful!
@amy.cycling.adventures for real though. I have good friends who have gone through eating disorders and all that bs. It's a struggle, and I am so impressed about how you are dealing with it. A potential inspiration, I think. Stay strong, stay happy!
To balance this, and agreeing with you, and I don't doubt that you also agree with - Amy is a wonderful, talented, intelligent, sensitive young lady. She is fit, good looking and very much in love with Kyle despite his moods! And hers. They are made for each other.
Watching you two is better than watching the tele, really enjoyed it and looking forward to tomorrows episode! Got to have a pizza for dinner now after seeing those!
Loving this adventure.! Just got back from France myself...! Watched Cavendish at St Vulbas. AMAZING !! Recommend to anyone to go..the atmosphere is fantastic . Cycling heaven, smooth roads, beautiful food , weather, lovely french people who don't swear or try and kill you!😂 Amy its so refreshing to see a cyclist who makes healthy food choices! It's not all about calories! Your stats say it all..! I can't believe the cake, chips, coke diet..!! Blood sugar spikes can make you hangry !&What about heart ,liver, digestive health! Loved your face after that tiff ! Ice pack that knee Kyle..x 😂
It was nice to meet you and Kyle getting on and off the ferry on the first day of your adventure. It looks like it delivered on the thrills (and spills) of a French cycling trip - great fun. The Audax BRM event I rode ("La Route des Vignobles", from Mayenne to Chablis and back), took us over the same high ground with the radio masts as your Day 2 route. No time for a top of the hill dance, though!
Ahh it was so great to meet you too! We had a great time thank you, we were sad to come home. We spoke about you a few times wondering how the Audax would be going, hope it went well! We will have to look into abroad Audax!
Absolutely spot with your analysis of cycle touring. The only thing you have to think about is getting to your destination for the day. Literally all other worries melt away.
A brilliant vlog with beautiful scenery and the route looked so good Amy! You two remind me of me and partner (also called Amy) when we’re out riding, just so funny 🤣🙌 Keep up the great work and viva La France 🇫🇷
You arrived in my territory...(I'm about 15 km from Arnouville) you missed the best bits which are just to the east of where you were. ! Most reliable places for water in France are cemeteries, there's always a tap (for watering flowers), and in small villages they are never closed. Saves on plastic ! If you buy something in a bakery or have a coffee in a café or bar, if you ask nicely they will usually fill up your water bottles too.
What a beautiful ride, you sure lucked out with the weather👍Not much climbing for a change😉I only did 68 miles today and climbed almost 5000ft, after 5 consecutive 100 milers it was good to enjoy a shorter ride and I stayed dry😊Awesome first episode, you guys are sure putting in the miles on those Pinarellos😁
Hi Amy and Kyle, I’ve been looking forward to the France videos after seeing what you were doing for your next adventure on Strava 😊 what a great route you planned 👌 little villages with lots of character to get the true sense of France 👍 I did a similar thing on my first trip to the 24 heures du Mans endurance motor race in June 1987, avoided the main roads and made the journey from Calais part of the holiday and not a mad dash to get there 👌😊 looking forward to more on RU-vid of your adventure in France 😎
I have been guilty of doing the "mad dash from Calais" to Normandy and Brittany several times but decided to take my/our time and have never regretted it! "Ordinary" France is blummin fantastic!
Totally relate to just not being able to choose and it all being overwhelming. But you did the right thing having a back up option! We’ve just written a post ride refuelling plan because I was struggling with stopping eating when stopping cycling and not replenishing. And we have a few options but also an « if all else fails and you just need to get something in » option (cereal bars)!
Maybe Kyle is like me and he needs his preferred drink to go with his lunch (when he would not eat the baguette or take your water). I do that all the time and it gets into the occassional argument. Sometimes I get real hangry and stop for fast food, but then wont eat it until I get home, and the person with me proceeds to grill me about why I am not eating. I explain I forgot to order the soda (or have it at home), so have to wait until I get my soda to eat. I just stubbornly refuse to eat unless I have my drink (absolutely refuse to drink water. Nope, nope, nopety nope). I cannot eat food without my preferred drink. It drives people crazy when they see me do this.
Looks lovely in France with a lot of sunshine as well so what a treat. On a side note those 'ladies' in the field you greeted with a good morning were all young bulls and since you called them mademoiselles too they would have understood that and probably taken quite a bit of offence 🤣
Need to get a pair of Shokz headphones Kyle. Hooked up to a cracking Playlist, for those times when your ears need a break from being chewed to bits ! :) Sacre bleu ☀️ 🇫🇷 🐦 🐦
Great ride Amy and Kyle it looks amazing 🤩 I have been waiting for the video after following you both on Strava .made my evening can’t wait till next ride stay safe 👏🏻
EAT. RIDE. LIVE! You know *_food is fuel_* Amy. Allowing those _subconsciously_ destructive thoughts to take root is unhealthy & unfair to both your and your mind. We're with you, Amy!!
That plaque and chateau at ~13:20 fascinated me! What did it say, who did it commemorate, who lived their? It commemorated Louis de Rouvroy, duc de Saint-Simon, whose massive memoirs are a classic of French literature, giving the fullest and most lively account of the court at Versailles of Louis XIV. Think intrigue, affairs, gossip, parties, sex everywhere, at all times, every way possible. He died forgotten and in great debt ~30 yrs before The Revolution
Great video but just a suggestion, maybe you could Goole the info of nice places you visit so you can share it. That chateau looked amazing but my French isn't good enough to understand the plaque! :) Would be great for the channel I think, to share some info about the amazing places you go!
Thanks!! We use Tailfin they’re mega expensive but only thing we found that works well, I bought mine and then Kyle got his gifted 🙌😅 they are really great though very waterproof we tested that 😂
Job Well Done Gang, Yes The back roads of France are so nice and quite and free of traffic , and 16 euros is about right for a pizza in France , and i enjoy the moaning and crumping and the little chats about mental health , its good to get it of your chest and not bottle it up , as my good lady (who was a Mental Health Nurse/ Sister for 30 years keeps telling me). looking forward to part two. keep safe Paul.
Kyle is right you got fuel up for big rides. But it hard eat the right food on tour. I am Type two Diabetes it is even more harder. I am sailor and doing Championships eat morning and late the evening when shore. Find something that suits you and going with it.
Hello, what kind of bags do you have on your bike?I'm looking for something that won't put too much load on the rear wheel of my road bike, thank you for the quick answer😀
Hi i'm french and just discoeverd your channel, i enjoyed your video, i would like to do bikepacking like you, which tyre are using ? And it would be cool if can do a video about your bike packs setup !
Hiya! Ahhh thanks so much for watching! I have the panaracer Duros ~ I’m sponsored by them, I tried them out before agreeing it and so far done over 3000km without a puncture so they’re a yes from me! You can use ZAMY10 for a discount on them ☺️ We are doing a bike set up video in August for a big ride we have in September ☺️
OMG you guys are freaks - back to back 250s and you’re not shouting the crap out of each other? You need to do another channel on “how to manage long term relationship under horrible stressful conditions” - hugs from Melbourne (the Australian one)
Kind of like the little tifs you two have it adds the element of realism to RU-vid , we all know RU-vid paints abit of a fairytale and is a bit fake ,also theres only so much baguettes you can eat in one day 😂 hardly spoilt for choice
@amy.cycling.adventures thank you I will check them out, I was looking at frame bags but I like the look of the pannier set up, great videos of your trip (cafés 😀) 🚴♂️👌🥐
first impression, they have pinarelo bicylces and they bikepacking with it. that's passion and also being rich, if I have a pinarrelo I would not use it even :(((
It’s not about being rich, it’s about creating a RU-vid channel that loads of people enjoy, and making a premium bike manufacturer notice and want to sponsor them and give them bikes.
@@amy.cycling.adventures I’ve got a pair myself. Used them for the first time in France last month. Together with the AeroPack, they are the ideal size for credit card touring. I was really impressed with them. Totally waterproof, on and off the bike in seconds. The T-hook straps are ideal for attaching things or drying clothes.
Would be easier to carrywhite sugar and cheap Jesse Cole cycle coach part of the Chris Millar cycling pod cast , he recommends 150gm a hr or more remember calorie is a calorie,
I have been watching documentaries about pro cyclists getting eating disorders and in order to be competitive obsessing about their weight. I also have a close relative with an eating disorder. Thank goodness you are talking about it Amy, it shows others they are not alone.
2nd time I watched your video I had this question, as a bike man/cyclist, is there substance or something I learned that added to my knowledge me to be a better bike user = sorry dear, I wasted my time and promised I would pause watch(not stop in fairness) for a while with your channel. However, I see you cute but that is a different topic, ok bye (take it objectively, wish you success) yow.
2.45 into the video and as usual you’re banging on about your eating disorder again😴😴😴 No wonder Kyle was pissed off. PS what’s happened to your eyebrows 😮and agua isn’t water in France 🇫🇷
Amy has always spoken about her difficulties as a way of helping others speak about important matters, it’s certainly one thing id never get annoyed at her for. (I was actually more grumpy because we couldnr find food stops and im not great on an empty stomach)
That doesn’t make sense saying that you was grumpy because you couldn’t find food stops, you was slumped outside a bakery slamming a baguette down mush with a face on then thirty seconds later Amy is explaining why you was grumpy and it was because she couldn’t decide what to have from the bakery because those eating disorder voices were in her head.
Mairie is the word for town hall. Museum is museé. And the t in et (and) is never pronounced... Details of the ruin you found here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_de_Rouvroy,_duc_de_Saint-Simon
