Thanks for your packing video. This will help us greatly as we prepare for our ride next year. I think I counted 15 bags excluding your panniers.

Hahaah 15 that’s a lot!! 😂 Thank you for your comment! Everyone has of course there own way of traveling and packing but I also got a lot of inspiration of such videos so I glad that it helps you as well! ☺️ Do you already now where you want to go on your trip next year?

I don't have a laundry build up because I don't bring much and I wash every day! I have two sets of clothes for cycling, the one I'm wearing and the one I washed the previous evening which is either dried and packed or hanging of the bike completing the drying process. Beyond that I have an extra set of underwear to ensure I always have a dry set to wear in the evening with my casual clothes. If I'm gone for more than a few days I add an extra casual shirt. So my usual washing is one set of clothes and perhaps once a week or so an extra shirt and set of underwear - takes maybe 15 mins in the evening. A while back there I discovered the "Scrubba Outdoor Wash Bag", that, a small clothes line and a packet of "Sea To Summit Trek & Travel Pocket Laundry 50 Sheets" and I'm good to go. On the rear occasion that I find I have some soiled clothes that have not been washed, I stuff them the was bag until I get a chance to do the wash.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It does sound very nice and efficient the way you are doing it!! On my last longer trips I however did bring quite some clothes and underwear but then if I would use your method I perhaps don't have to. Hmm I'm gonna think about this! 😅 The wash bag seems indeed a great to wash easily some items in the evening. Thanks for your comment! 😊

Hi! Thanks for your comment ☺️ And yes a bit! Official bikepacking is with very little things and bags more closely attached to your bike frame right? So that you can also go into more off-road paths. (I know that’s not the same as my set-up but I use the term because then more people can find my video 😅). You cycle yourself as well? And if so; bikepacking or touring?

Good video, I'm planning cycling the uk to Rome spring 25 so it's nice to get some tips. Can you please tell me what is your overall weight. I'm more of a long distance hiker so in curious to know the difference in weight because that looks like your carrying a lot of weight.

Thanks for your comment and for watching!! Wow that sounds like an amazing plan! How long will you be on the road for your planning? And yes indeed I think I'm carrying more then only the most necessary things as I like to have a bit more stuff with me 😅 On my last trip the weight of the bags was a little bit under 25kg including a tent of 2,6kg as I don't have an expensive light one. For me that was fine as I considered whether the "luxury" items where worth the weight and for me it does as I can still cycle lovely. I for example had 4 cycle outfits with me although you can of course also have 2 and wash it more often. Hope this is helpful! Have fun with preparing your trip!! 😊

@@anthonymcdonald8444 Yes it indeed isn't too bad! I do pack very light cloths so for example no jeans or something 😊 Thank you! Nice to hear you enjoyed the video's!!

My feeling is to many clothing and to many bags. For cycling I have two shirts and three cycling shorts. All my clean clothes are in one (AH)bag, then I have one bag with evening clothes and a bag for my dirty laundry. Why do you have your sunscreen in one of the back panniers and not in the front one? You need to apply it regularly, ask Silvy. 🙂 Also I don't put my tent with my other sleeping gear, because I don't want a wet tent near my sleeping bag and mat. I don't have a big top bag, so I can access my rear panniers easily. The only bag on my rear rack contains my tent. Front left is my cooking gear and groceries, right side I have a jacket, rain gear, a lock, spare parts and tools.

Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching! It's nice to read about your method and what you bring along on your trips 😊 Everyone has there one specific way of doing things and I for example like to have everything in a specific bag 😅 And yes I actually do have the sunscreen indeed in my front pannier most of the time (as it is at the moment as well) so that Silvy and I could grab it easily 😂 Again thanks for sharing!! 😊

You must have some seriously strong legs you carry so much gear fair play to you.

Hahaaha yess you will get used to it 😅 Are you cycling yourself as well? I'm curious what items you really see as essentials! So if you want to share? 😊 Thanks for your comment!

@@ElizabethHoefkens I love cycling I only do overnighters so can get away with just a tent and a sleeping bag/mat and a stove and food. I'm in awe of people who go for multiple days I struggle to sleep well on the camp and feel rough the next day.

Hi! Thanks for your reply! Ah yes I see. Well I totally understand the struggle with sleeping on a camping. I myself normally can sleep almost anywhere as long as I lie flat but I also have sometimes struggles. Mostly (as you can see in my videos 😅) because of the cold nights but also due to the matress etc. Sometines I also take an hostel or hotel if I’m done with camping or when it’s raining a lot.

Why don't you put your laundry in one of the 4 bike outfit bags? Everytime you get a clean outfit you put your dirty outfit in one of the bags 😊
@ElizabethHoefkens
@ElizabethHoefkens 18 дней назад
That is actually a good idea!! It sounds good because then it will not become this one huge bag which I cannot put in my bags easily. I'm definitely gonna try this next time! Thanks for your comment!! 😊
