Biking Col Du Turini from Sospel 

It is a truly great climb. I went up yesterday starting and ending at Monaco where most professional cyclists actually start and end from. If starting and ending at Monaco and entering from the Sospel direction (and having to pass col de Castillion before reaching Sospel), the total necessary climbing is 2,400m. If also starting and ending in Monaco but passing Peille (doing Col de Turini in the opposite direction), the total necessary climbing is also 2,300m, so it is almost the same in both directions. So you can also do round trips from Monaco, without backtracking, and either passing Sospel before the climb or after it, and the total climbing is about 2,400m. It is tough ride. If you ride directly from Nice to col de Castillion, and descend back the same way, it can be done without almost no extra climbing so the total climbing for the day about 1,700m if going directly from Nice to L'Escarene to Col de Turini and then reverse the ride.
