We should petition the label to release "Love for Sale"!!! That's how Lupe's shelved album Lasers was released. Lupe's fan's protested in front of record label and executives set an official release date. It's a damn shame for this amazing album to be shelved.
word.. Love 4 Sale would have made him a superstar... possibly the best unreleased album ive ever heard... not including all the masterpieces the Great Prince Nelson left in his mighty vault...thats a whole nother level of genius and productivity
Seen this live in Camden this July 2023, and it was the most magical part of the night. The song was written in London, too. What a moment. PLEASE GET THIS RELEASED ASAP!!
"it's like my heart won't let it/Lord don't let it/ Circumstance can't undo this/ Oh no! it's got to Be!" I feel you Bilal "my heart won't let it go." umm...
Bilal sang background for De Angelo tho... I still have the original cd with cd cover, one day I was reading it in my zone lol and it had Bilal in all the credits...surprisingly shocked
Just saw Bilal in Baltimore at the Sound Stage two night ago. It was the best I’ve seen of him live. We were in the front row center stage. He was absolutely wonderful. He seemed to enjoy the show as much as the crowd and was so personable with the crowd afterwards. He was just so present. It’s as if he has become new again. And I’m happy for him! I’ve loved him since 2010. He sang this in an encore by request. He’s so underrated. I’m so happy to see him with the symphonies and doing his thing with the crowds that love him. See him if you can whenever you can!
The Soulfulness on this track is off the meter...I remember seeing him perform with Common in Houston at the Maxwell concert...quick story...lol we initially had nose bleed seats at the Toyota Center, but someone working there approached us and gave us floor seats for the Maxwell portion of the show...i mean we were right next to the stage...awesome nite. Just hate that we missed Chrisette Michele
Minus this track..which is incredible...this album is trash.....incredible voice...incredibly terrible beat selection..even the first album has a few unlistenable beats
@Thesororityrecords He is coming out with a new album in 2010 w/ an independent label...so happy! He is one of my fav. live performers..he can sing R&B/neo-soul, rock, opera.
@MrALAMIN73 Funkadelic told us about it in 1972 with an album called America Eats Its Young. The album art depicts the statue of liberty eating children; an accurate metaphor for the times we live in.
you know what i've come to find. is that the youth run this worid. really everything is marketed toward the youth, and the the youth don't want to hear this kind of music so the record companies don't promote it, they will not back it. everything is about the youth, that's where the money is. the only thing they market to the 30 to 50 age group is something that makes you look and feel young. i don't look to radio, we just need to network and keep passing it word of mouth
@MrALAMIN73 That is only partially true. I am a youth and I whole heartedly love and support this album. I would be lying if I said that everyone my age listens to stuff with substance, but don't discredit my whole generation (even though I am losing faith in them lol) I can say the same about older generations and how artist like Tracy Chapman made beautiful lyrical art and received no love...
came here because i thought "bilal" funny (in brazilian portuguese it would be pronounced as "bilau", which is a slang for "penis") stayed because it's simply beautiful.
@MrALAMIN73 True. I just want people to be aware that young people love and respect music too. Its so funny because people are so surprised my musical taste and call it eclectic. I don't see whats so eclectic about it....I just like good music lol
@bbonemn i am not grouping you are anyone your age that enjoys all music for its art form. my son is 18 and he enjoys this as well as gucci mane, i don't like gucci mane myself but thats just me. i'm talking the youth as the majority. the young are mostly the ones who call in to the radio stations, vote american idol and etc. so thats why i made that comment.
Record cos don't know how to work these kinds of artists'music. They should begin where the intellectuals are. College and community radio. create the buzz there. a lot of egos at the top. No thinkers. -
