20 years ago I argued with my best friend about how Tom Brady would be a better quarterback than Peyton Manning. Today we know that it’s Brady-7 rings and Manning-2 rings. However, I don’t think that Brady will love being an analyst nor be great at it in my opinion. As an analyst, I hope Tom is more Troy Aikman than Joe Montana in the NFL broadcasting booth! Lastly, I love Chris Carter and I’m glad he has his own podcast! Great start! 😊💯👍
Brady was a 6th-round pick and a part-time backup at michigan.. he was not hailed as a franchise savior coming into the league.. Bill was already a superbowl winning DC.. they both needed each other to reach the peaks they did.. neither should be discredited
Idk about the Williams/Daniels take. Jayden was on a star studded lsu team while that USC squad was at the bottom of a loaded pac 12 so I think Jayden wouldn’t have faired much better. Also Caleb is very mobile and athletic himself.
What happened to the defense in the pats second and third Super Bowl win? What happened to the defense in every Super Bowl except the last one they won?🤣
@@ChrisHoward141 remember Butler’s INT? Remember stopping Peyton’s offense 2003 & 2004. Also vs Falcons, Brady took all game to get going and got tremendous help from the defense to comeback. Lol
During TB era Matt Cassell was 11-5 Gimmy G and Brissett are 3-1 So idk about that Yes last few years were rough but just look at the team its xfl strenght
Brady wouldn't have most them rings if BELICHICK'S defense wasn't holding teams to 21, 17, 14, 3 ETC! Belichick held a team to 3 pts in a Superbowl in this pass happy league! Brady deserves his credit no doubt but he didn't have to score 31, 34, 38, points to win playoff games like Rodgers, Manning, Brees Etc! The won super bowl that they depended on Brady to simply outscore the other offense was the 2017 eagles and he lost! The falcons super bowl was an awesome come back but it also don't happen if the defense in the second half don't hold them every time and yes it was the same defense that gave up the points in the first half but my point is it was a collaboration! People just want to ride Brady's nuts
Brady threw for 505 yards in the super against the Eagles in the Super Bowl. Belichick's defense couldn't stop second string quarterback Nick Foles. How does a quarterback throw for 505 yards and lose? Before and after Brady, Belichick is way under 500 without Brady. Brady went to Tampa and won a championship right away. What happened to Belichick after Brady left?
@johnhatchel9681 Belichick was terrible in the draft even his most ardent defenders admit that. And Brady won with many of the sub par teams Belichick put together in spite of not having top tier talent which more than proves his greatness. Brady threw for 505 yards against the Eagles in the Super Bowl and defensive "genius " Belichick couldn't hold back the Eagles offense who was forced to use a backup quarterback. As far as Tampa goes there's no way to predict that anyone else could have done what Tom Brady did there. What did Jameis Winston and others do before Brady arrived? Professional football is not as simple as you make it. Brady is by the numbers and every other metric the greatest and to say that anyone could duplicate his efforts is at best questionable.
@johnhatchel9681 That's so untrue. Belichick was terrible in the draft and Brady constantly had to overcome this. Over and over again Brady won against teams that had superior talent but he was the difference. Nobody was or has been bigger in the clutch over the course of a career. How good was Belichick where he got fired in Cleveland or when he went 5-11 his first year in New England with Drew Bledsoe and then after an 0-2 start Belichick told his coaches that they may have to put their houses up for sale. Because he knew that they were going to get fired and then lucky for Belichick Drew Bledsoe couldn't play which gave Tom Brady a chance. That's the only thing that saved Belichick or he's gone. Funny thing when Parcells had Bledsoe he New England he took the Patriots to the Super Bowl. Belichick went 5-11 and 0-2 with Bledsoe. That's why the owner was on the verge of firing him because another coach had already proven that his team could win with Bledsoe. Everyone can say what they want but history and the numbers speak for themselves. Let's see how Mahomes ends up. Right now based on a full career it's Tom Brady or Joe Montana anything as a famous man once said is just conversation.
That is so wrong about saying Tom Brady didn’t have control over the playbook lol… yes he did. Maybe earlier in his career he didn’t but by the time he was in his 3rd year he was already having input n had even more control over the years. There are countless videos and interviews of coaches and him talking about plays and creating plays as well as calling plays at the line of scrimmage. You fail to mention Manning came from a football family. His dad played in the NFL, his older brother was a great QB before he got inured and then obviously he has his younger brother Eli… Peyton was expected to be somebody special out of high school… he was the number 1 recruit out of high school and was a Heisman finalist. Tom was the back up to a freshmen QB in high school then started, Tom was the 7th QB in college then started… got drafted as the 4th QB on the Patriots then started. Let’s not take it out of context, just because Peyton had control over it first, doesn’t mean he was the greatest at it let alone to play the position. There are so many interviews of opposing players comparing who was harder to defend, Brady or Manning… almost every single one of them said Brady and that Brady was different because you can’t knock the fight out of him he is always in the game and that he is very patient.
Matt Cassell came in during a season where Brady injured his knee. They won 11 games that season and by some very weird basis that did not get them in the playoffs. By any measure, in any other season that would be play offs and an excellent outcome.
You don’t truly know football if anyone thinks winning is about 1 person. Belechick won 2 Super Bowls without Brady as a DC. Would Parcels won those without Belechick or did both need each other and LT? It’s narrow minded thinking.
@@davis2k1234 Contexts of the 2 situations are very different Bill Parcels and several ppl with Bill at the time with the Giants give him a lot of credit including players like LT for cultivating that Defense into what it became Everyone knows Matt Patrica was more of a stand in then an actual coach
@@davis2k1234 Was he drafted in 2002? I wonder who kept him on the roster in 2000 instead of cutting him allowing him to hone his craft without any pressure I forgot Tom was the GM at that time too
I watched a lot of CC and always found him to be a very sound analyst. His take on Belichick seems to just be a noise makin, headline grabbin, cheap shot. Belichick built machines. These machines were front, back office, coaching, personnel and the three play phases. Even down to understanding the rules and building a team that understands not taking penalties, to containing QBs - and all the rest. A quarterback plays in one phase of a football game. One. The rest of the machine has to be top notch to come out on top in the NFL. Period. Anyone not seeing Brady for his greatness is an idiot. Anyone not seeing Belichick correctly in a fully educated way about the game and what it takes to win, repeatedly, in a salary cap era, is a person who degrades their own placement when speaking about the game. Its one way to go from an expert to a fool. In seconds.
We will never know his career without brady but he wouldn't have 6 rings...he won twice as a dc in ny and he won a playoff game with bledsoe and brady was not elite at first when they won in 02 and he had some success as a brown and had good assistants....
Such a stupid take. It was bill who saw something in Brady. If not for bill we not be talking about tb12. Also, he is a coach. What does it mean to say this coach ain’t shot with out this player or that player. Ya no shit. He is a coach. Players play the game and you need great players to win. I mean bill Walsh ain’t shit without those Montana and rice. Chuck Knowles had great players. Shannahan had Elway and Terrell Davis. Jimmy Johnson had Aikman and Emmit smith.
Back when New England won their first Superbowl they were caught spying on other teams closed practices. They competed in another Superbowl where they tampered with the football itself. Point is we know New England cheated. The question is how many times did they cheat? With the talent they had and all world Brady at QB why did they need to cheat at all? It's hard for me to give Brady goat status when we know he cheated. Montana is the goat.
@@normabatista1472 Montana wasn't caught cheating. That means Brady was stupid. In NASCAR they say if you're not cheating you're not trying. But the really good one's, the smart one's don't get caught. Montana played in four Super bowls, Montana won four superbowls. He never threw a pick, and scored the most points in regulation than any team in one game.
