@@Thundergod- not. I don't include pop stars in my rankings especially with all the other great drummers out there in this genre. I e Terry Bozzio Aynsley Dunbar Billy Cobham Dave weckl Vinnie c a l l i u t a Neil Peart Bobby Caldwell Pierre Van Der Linden ECT
@@edljnehan2811 If you knew anything about prog and fusion drummers you would know that Phil Collins is one of the best. Ever heard of Project X ??? Some of the best fusion you will ever hear. So he did some pop stuff with Genesis. So what. You sometimes just need to compromise a little to pay your bills....
@@Thundergod- hahaha you don't give up do you? What kind of bills did that fruit have that Genesis couldn't afford without going pop. What he did was Cash in his musical principles and integrity when he saw the way the wind was blowing with the record companies. Please don't tell me about Fusion or progressive rock which I was listening to before you were crapping your diapers. I grew up on Jeff Beck the mahavishnu orchestra Jon Luc Ponty returned to Forever Ymir diodato as well as those great drummers like Narada Michael Walden Billy Cobham Dave weckl ECT any more dumb comments because nobody is going to sell me on Phil Collins except for he was an okay drummer in a one-time progressive rock band who ended up ruining it for everybody out of his own greed end of story diarrhea brains hahaha
What a pretentious fool you are. Phil Collins is ten times the drummer Carl Palmer is. Palmer isn't even on Phil's level with prog, let alone fusion.@@edljnehan2811
Shout out to the wonderful people who work so hard at Trading Boundaries for hosting this fitting tribute to a legend. They provide a wonderful setting for new and established performers in what in my opinion is the best small venue in the country.
Looks like Bill was having a great time honoring his friend and frequent collaborator. They contributed to some of the most important prog music ever. God bless them both.
Next to Phil Collins, YES Phil Collins, my favorite prog drummer and most influential. Roto toms forever! JW greatest voice in prog along with Greg Lake.
Great to see vocalist, Roger Chapman there, as well. John Wetton’s contribution to Family made both “Fearless” and “Burlesque” among their finest recordings.
SENSEI JOHN WETTON was a MONSTER Most beautiful VOICE & most impressive BASS Player of PROG alongside VHRISCSQUIRE & GREG LAKE REST IN POWER ✊🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🍻🇧🇷🖤
Gosh, wish I could have been there. I've only had the privilege of seeing John Wetton perform once during his stint as bassist with Uriah Heep. Wetton formed a close bond with their keyboardist Ken Hensley who could have been a nice addition to this show were it not for the fact that he also has passed on. RIP both.
Years ago, I was all set to see John Wetton(and Carl Palmer) in concert when ASIA was coming to San Francisco. Bought a ticket and all, then I hear it was canceled do to poor ticket sales! I could not believe it!! Totally disappointed! RIP John
@@MultiSkyman1 you'd have thought that having those two on the bill would have pulled them in. I currently have a fantasy that Carl Palmer will discover a new lease of life and go on tour with the reformed (or renamed) Rush as Alex and Geddy are considering getting back together. They're not exactly my favourite band although I did manage to see them when Neil Peart was still around. I absolutely would pay good money for that tour !
Carl Palmer should have been there. He was connected and close with all of these guys so he could have taken a couple of days off 0 f his Emerson Lake and Palmer tribute😮
I had the luck to be invited and taken to a concert at the San Diego Sports Arena many years ago in which UK opened for Jethro Tull. I forget what year it was but I clearly remember watching and listening to Terry Bozzio playing his rendition of Bruford's In the Dead of Night, as well as some new songs. I also clearly remember John Wetton and Eddie Jobson but weirdly I have no recollections of any guitar player. I was more attentive to the drums. Bill's shoes are too big to be filled, even in retirement..
