You shouldn't be the one to tell him, its not your business, and you shouldn't have seen it. It maybe the one situation where its completely appropriate to act severely passive aggressively to the girl and your other friend until they have to ask, then they will deal with it after you tell them it will eat at them if you they know you know cause theyll never know if your best friend actually knows.

He didn't provide the info, so we don't really know. You're also saying "he shouldn't have seen it" as if finding out a different way, like at some hotel together, would change the information. What matters now is that he knows, so it doesn't really matter how he found out and if that's his best friend, it's absolutely his place because that's what friends are fucking for - to have your back and tell you the truth. Since he knows, not telling him is lying by omission. So, he's got two options: the first is to confront the other guy about it, the second is to go straight to the betrayed friend and let him know.
