I was there for this. It was a part of the opie and anthony traveling virus tour. It was an outdoor amphitheater where the crowd booed a bunch of the earlier comedians and you got this. This is what made Bill burr

When asked if he regretted anything he replied he was pissed that he forgot to tune up the '76 ers.

It's mixed crowd, good portions booing him was the Philly crowd. They boo at him, so he fired back attacked everything they love, in the end they gave him a standing ovation and he became a legend. There was approximately 10,000 people in the crowd lol

In order to get paid he had to do 14-15 minutes. The crowd had booed the first guy, another one cut his act short, some did well. Bill got started and then the crowd booed. And Bill lost it. He thought he ruined his career! 😂😂

Like number 999 here. This will be my 4th video in a row of watching your Bill Burr reactions. It's crazy how many many times I've seen these same clips just to see the reactions of people seeing it for the first time It's like watching your favorite movie with a friend who hasn't seen it yet but you know for sure they'll love it. The Philly crowd had moved all the comedians before bill came on including Bob Saget. The other comedians just left the stage after they got booed but Bill decided to take them on straight up

I'm a hardcore Bill Burr fan (plus the same age) so to help with background context... The was an all day comedy show in 2006 called the Travleing Virus Tour put on by "Opie and Anthony" a shock radio show from NY(both now gone from radio). Bill was a regular guest on "Opie and Anthony" radio show since Jim Norton(the 3rd cast member of the radio show). Jim was a fellow NY comic and would bring many of his friends on the program. On the Philly concert, Bill and several comics were there to perform such as: Patrice O'Neil, Dom Irrera, Bob Sagat, Rich Vos, Jim Norton, and a few other comics. There were 10,000 people in the crowd, many had been drinking all day. When Dom was onstage he got heckled/booed hard, Bill was the next to go up onstage. When they first booed Bill he instantly had enough and went off. Yes it was completely improvised, nothing staged at all. Bill has a tremendous sports knowledge and used that to attack the crowd. All of the backstage comics came running to watch Bill from the side curtains. At one point you hear someone with a mic offstage trying to talk to Bill (I think it was Patrice trying to help via another crew member with the mic). Bill was such in attack mode he couldn't understand what they were saying so he went off on them too. When it was over Bill thought he ruined his comedic career, plus he also felt guilty for destroying the show before Jim Norton had to go up. Bob Sagat didn't know Bill that well but went to Bill to tell him he didn't ruin anything in fact he will become a huge star instead. Oh since it doesn't make sense unless you already knew the radio program, the part where he smiles in the crowd and talks to "Erock" about a picture. That was an Opie and Anthony crew member, Eric, who's nickname is Erock. The next city of the Traveling Virus 2006 tour tried to boo Bill in hopes of getting another 12 min rant but he didn't take the bait, though it did worry him that might keep happening which is why he didn't return on the 2007 tour. In 2008 Mike Birbiglia was booed off and Opie and Anthony decided no more Traveling Virus Tour shows. Dave Attell and Jimmy Fallon were invited on 2008 tour but turned it down after hearing what Bill went through.

I can happily say that I was there. This was The Opie & Anthony Traveling Virus Comedy Tour. This was in August of 2006. It was an outdoor show, and Opie & Anthony fans are drunk savages. They booed a lot of comics, even the comics that they loved. But Bill got pissed when they booed Dom Irrera because he’s not built like that and not used to being unfairly heckled so Bill Snapped.

They were booing everyone, he got up and when they started in on him he just snapped. Bob Saget was going up next and when Bill walked by him he apologized and Bob said “you don’t need to apologize, tonight you became a legend”.

It was epic, I was at that show! Multiple hours of various comedians... Dom Irrera came out before him and his set was just not funny so they started booing Dom. Bill obviously was pissed. It was great! Bill was getting paid to do 20 minutes I think had to keep going.
