It is very strange that the same people who are so critical of Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad have NO problem with honoring, celebrating and holding high the so-called "founding fathers", slave owners and adulterers who forcefully and repeatedly engaged in child molestation, pedophilia, rape, sodomy and savage brutality against their enslaved African 'property'. They have NO problem with pockets and wallets full of currency emblazoned with the images of these sexually predatory beasts who set the tone and example of rape culture for all to follow. Why is there NO outrage that the portraits of these sexual monsters are proudly displayed in government institutions, museums, schools and public buildings at tax-payer's expense? The preponderance of long-term sexual crimes and misconduct on the part of the horde of barbaric demons and sexual predators who are now celebrated as "great" men would render Bill Cosby a saint by comparison!

And, didn't they determine, based on said facts, that there was a travesty of justice and therefore correctly overturned the verdict against Mr. Cosby? We claim to be a country governed by the Constitution/Courts, yet when verdicts do not align with our opinions, we want to circumvent the very Constitution/Courts we rely on to institute justice. Unfortunately the rise to fame is now and has always been tainted. Let me say, I don't agree with Bill Cosby stepping outside his marriage being a serial adulator, and do I believe he was inappropriate at times, YES, but also is true that many of these women, going to his hotel room at night, was on the come up as well. This was also a Witch Hunt to destroy this mans character. Legally you cannot go back and open up a sealed case document and use it against someone. I strongly believe in the BOTH AND on this case. He was a powerful black man who was about to take over a white network, much like what Tyler Perry has done, but they got rid of him before it happened and did it illegally.

I understand the over turning of Mr. Cosby's conviction on technical merit. But what is disturbing to me is how men, and to a degree women, from all walks of life continually dismiss the humanity of these women, women in general. Just because a woman is gullible enough to be tricked into an unsafe and foolish situation...., doesn't mean that it gives men the license to be less than human. We really need to have honest conversations about walking in our humanity as a people. It's obvious from many of the call ins and comments...that many don't understand or simply don't know what it means to be humane. I love what Mr. Cosby has meant to our community, culture. I still hold him accountable for his behavior, as I do all of us, myself included. When I look at the case through the lens of humanity, or the lack of. This is heartbreaking all around.

As a survivor of sexual assault and my assailant has not been arrested but I have come to forgive because a person can forgive and not condone one’s actions. I can understand if a person holds bad feelings because it’s human nature. But by doing that the assailant is still in control of your life. Forgiveness is not for the wrong doer is for the forgiver. What needs to be done is the laws on sexual abuse and assault should be changed from the county courts to the Supreme Court and go to your local and federal legislators to make a change. Like one of your guests said you can appreciate all the good things Cosby has done and still support his survivors. Cosby couldn’t walk away from prison alone. He had help from the prosecutor office- Bruce Castor( who defended Trump in the 1st impeachment trial). Castor should also bare some of the blame for making that agreement.

It will be great and useful when the constructive talking points can start being, "Men, don't drug women. Men, don't rape women. Men, don't assault women. Men, don't murder women." Instead of folks feeling the need to wag their fingers at women, who as Michaela stated, are not going into any situation wanting or deserving to be raped and taken advantage of. Placing the onus on those who don't have the power to somehow be able to control the actions of the ones who do is extremely unbalanced and asinine. This whole belief that, "Well, if you just don't do XYZ, then you won't get assaulted." How about, don't assault the woman to begin with, and then the woman won't get assaulted. Do men really think that they, as a collective, are incapable of not assaulting (sexually, physically, etc.) a woman? This supreme court had the option to reverse and remand, had the option on the other issue. I think they would have, I think the decision by one judge in one trial to not let in that testimony and then, when it hangs comes back in the second trial and basically open the barnyard door and says come one come all tell your story. That made the difference in the trial and the supreme court likely would have found that. But they decided instead, no, we are taking it all the way to the beginning before the first trial. When there were charges on Dec 30, 2015, that is the decision that was wronged. So, it is not a decision by DA Castor that was wrong making the deal. Prosecutors have all the discretion in the world. It was the decision by DA Steele to not honor it that violates Mr. Cosby rights. If you just think about the way prosecutors, come up with plea agreements then the courts ratify those agreements. What if the prosecutor ten years later decide the day before your little brother suppose to get out on a deal that was ten -20, and says we shouldn’t have offered that, that’s too low. We think you did some other things. We can’t get him for the other things. So, we are going to stack on time here. That cannot be the way our justice system works. No. Be thankful the PA supreme court sent that message very clearly today.

There topic was full of statement that need to be addressed in more detail. Is Cosby guilty in the court of law “No” public opinion “Possibly” for your panel to state two things can hold true at the same time. He should be in jail but his contributions should live on. Then say I erased R Kelly playlist because of his faults. Then to say I’m enamored by Laurence Fishburne so I drank the Tea without question is how so many women find themselves in this condition. Know they self to always be present so your not motivated to feel that pressure you put upon yourself in those moments will stop a lot of this from happening

I am a survivor and I will say these people are allowed to be human after conviction. They are still allowed to have someone care deeply for them as someone cares deeply for you. Because you’re triggered you can’t suppress feelings or shame someone got the feelings they have. Ms.R clearly has a deep love or respect for Cosby. They are allowed to have that connection. I’m also a mother and if my child killed someone I’d still love protect and praise them. From my seat I’m His mom. So from her seat there are respected peers. Your feelings are over crowding they space. And like I said I’m a survivor and I wanted mine under the jail again from my seat.
@loveheals6184
@loveheals6184 3 года назад
You'd still "protect and praise him"? With an attitude like that you may very well be part of the reason he could become a murderer. There are mothers who stand for decency, humanity and divine. They LOVE their children while teaching them (and living the example) that some actions are right, some wrong and consequences can show up as reward and punishment. Perhaps if someone hadn't protected and praised your abuser but held them accountable (and gotten them help) you wouldn't be a survivor. (Unless that's just something you're just saying. If you can invalidate others, it's fine for the rest of us to do the same to do.)

My comment was not in reference to his action but to his place among his family and immediate communities. I started out by saying I’m a survivor and ended saying I’d want him under the jail the point is his family and friends who have attachments deeper and longer than one damaging incident with me are tethered differently. And each connection has a perspective from loved experience and reality which would cause each to arrive at different feelings and that’s A ok. Think and see further than your nose. Tata

I am so glad yall are having this conversation. Watching movies and tv from the 80's and earlier (maybe the 90's too), our culture not only approved but also put this type of rape in particular (being drugged and raped) as acceptable and put out there to kids evens-i.e. "Spanish fly" was advertised in comic books, in the movie Sixteen Candles when the girl was passed out in the car..anyways rape has been the victim's fault by our culture for a long time..and boys and men who are raped have just been ignored or laughed at. I do have to say that I do separate the artisist from their art, or rather as yall said in the beginning, hold two truths. The law is atrocious and bends to who has the most money. The fact that those two men Kevin Strickland and Lamar Johnson, and so many others who are innocent and been proven innocent and are still locked up and Bill Cosby who said he did it, is let out right away on a technical error..clearly shows even more how messed up our "justice" system is.. Anyways so grateful for the conversations you hold on your shows. Thank you thank you🙏💜🙏
