Veteran Bill Evans, B-coy 2nd South Wales Borderers, telling his story of D-Day at the Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall in London, November 2009,
Thanks for sharing this. I was lucky enough to know Bill,he was a good man. Made me cry seeing him and Pat together again. Whatever their nationality, they were all brave men and heroes in the true sense of the word, and we owe them and all the others who fought a great debt.
Rob Thomas - Bill stayed with us every year and it was me that wrote the "script" for this piece of film. we were so pleased when the Festival of Remembrance broadcast was seen by some of you family - I believe it was this that got you in contact with Bill & Pat. We drop by Fred's French long term holiday home in Bazenville every couple of months - it's 2 miles from us, and make sure he is ok.
