When I say I cried like a baby during this episode. There’s such precious few examples for me as a gay man of what it would be like to grow old and die happy with a man I love, especially after the hiv pandemic in the 80s and 90s that killed so many in my community. So it was really refreshing and meaningful to see this on screen. Thank you HBO ❤️

Honestly the best love story ever told, regardless of sexuality or biases. It's just so... beautiful, tragic, grounded, silly, heartbreaking, heartwarming. I loved it. A masterpiece in storytelling. Bill and Frank lived the most dignified lives, and died the most dignified deaths, of anyone in The Last Of Us. They got the best one could ever ask for in the apocalypse.

I wish more people could see the story in this episode for what it is at its core. Forget that it's two men - that part is irrelevant and trivial. It's about the difference between surviving and living. Living with soul and humanity, living with purpose amidst the chaos. It's about the importance of having people in our lives we can care about and who care about us in return. This could've been a love story between two women, a man and a woman, or even two clickers… and it would still be beautiful. It's such a shame that people get so hung up on their distaste for one thing that they choose to disregard everything else, because now they'll never see what they actually missed.

Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett deserve awards for their performances. They did such an amazing job portraying Bill and Frank's love story. "Frank is the flowers and Bill is the soil" is such a wonderful way to describe their relationship 💙😭 A true tear jerker episode one that will stay with me for a very long time (Everyone needs a Frank in their life). I love that Joel is wearing Frank shirt at the end and Ellie has his gun 😭

Definitely one of the most powerful, touching and moving stories I have ever seen in motion picture. I don’t think I ever connected so deeply to the pain felt by a character who has nothing to do with me as I did to Bill’s when he found out about Frank’s decision. Perfectly conveyed both character’s feelings to create, in my humble opinion, one of the best narratives I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching.

The fact this episode has gotten backlash from some who claim to be fans of the game without knowing the source material themselves says a lot on its own. These people knew the story of the game and chose to expand on and improve these characters in such a heartwarming way. As Neil said, if they think they can do something better than the game they will deviate, if not it will stay roughly the same. This was a great choice for one of those deviations

The tv show is excellent. This episode was flawless. I played both games and the DLC, and im thankful that HBO allowes me to experience those games again at a deeper level. Personally what would be perfect for me would be if we get atleast one scene thats similar to playing the game on grounded and ruthlessly taking out a whole group of people. So ruthlessly that you understand other characters point of view when they talk about how brutal Joel was.

Yeah we have to. But it's quite hard to translate that to the screen because as players we feel a whole 'nother level of engagement. What is cool and well fitting and perfect for a video game will seem cliche and run of the mill in a TV show. And despite how good the lead actors are I don't think we can get an accurate representation of the brutality and emotional damage. So the showrunners have to deviate in certain places to get a similar response. This episode is quite a good example of that.

I love that it was there own choice to go out the way they did. In this series, a lot of people's lives get taken from them. It is so powerful in this dangerous world that they had a different choice. That people got to have a life and have love. It makes it more powerful to me. That the human side to all of us is never really gone. ❤️ Bill and Frank in the game is awful in the heartbreaking way. I loved this so much more and made it more real to me, because Bill would change for Frank. Amazingly done by the creators❤️ Also go and watch/hear the podcast for this episode. It is amazing! I was hooked on what they were saying and the choices that were made. Amazing work❤️

Best episode so far. The acting was incredible! When Bull bites the strawberry and just giggles. Really puts into perspective the small things we take for granted. Something as simple as the taste of a berry is worth more than gold in these moments.

This episode is hands down the best episode in a television series so far. So many levels of emotions, human compassion, love story, darkness with the world, etc. Cried pretty much the whole episode. So well done! ❤️👏🏼

@@SavageGameHawk another trying to come for me... ugh.. so, again...I did in fact play the game; both the original, part 2, and the remake of the original that came out last year. I was on the fence with the show from the beginning because it was so close to the game, that I was feeling like whats the point of watching this if its exactly like the game. Then i'd just play the game over again to actually experience it. They gave the back story to these characters that were indeed, in the game just not exactly the same. But instead of finding out the backstory in the game through letters you find, they SHOW us because it is a television show. They of course, took a different route with the characters of how fleshed out they were, but in my opinion, it's better.

@@Clink2000 I'm a huge fan of the game, and had no problem with them showing Frank and Bill's love story, but I hated how they killed Bill off, and deprived us of his great interactions with Ellie.

I would've love to see the Joel upside down scene when he gets rescued by BIll. However what a great deviation from the source material. Puts more depth and adds to the character of Bill and Frank.

I've said this in other Bill/Frank videos but their relationship, and Bill as a whole, felt very comfortable for me. There aren't many gay characters I relate with, many often times feel like stereotypes... But Bill... He felt like... ME! I saw myself in Bill and I appreciate it so much.

This episode was deep, and it blind-sighted me!! By deep, I mean… There are some very nice details to pick up on. The actors are both INCREDIBLE. Body language and facial expressions are EVERYTHING. For example: Frank’s face when Bill starts to touch the piano keys. By the end, I felt so grateful that Bill imposed on Frank’s life and he finally knew love. That’s the most beautiful thing: to penetrate such a hard shell and spread warmth.
