My parents, sister and myself spent one week in the Lake of the Ozarks in the summer of 1979 and I have to tell you it was one of most relaxing and beautiful places that I have ever visited.

MO is an incredible state. I just adore it and I am from a beautiful state to the north WI. Cost of living is so reasonable there and well priced housing still exists. I was shocked to see that the population has not increased much over a 40 year period. Perhaps that is a good thing.

He is the father of today show host Willie Geist. Liberal democrat.

It's a shame that people are reduced to a single factor in their complex personalities and lives, mainly political affiliation or religious beliefs. Has it been forgotten that using such labels is the chief weapon in targeted propaganda? Use a label to make a category of people into the scary "OTHER"! The boogeyman! I like to believe that we are smarter than that, I do have difficulty holding on to those beliefs when people make such ignorant and simplistic comments like the one you make here, I will believe that you are a decent person who has gotten swept up by those who want to increase the divisions that are so prevalent today. I lean toward liberalism, however I also hold some views that are more conservative, this is only one of the many ways that I, personally, do not fit into the little boxes that people try to use for others due to a lack of knowledge and understanding, or the willingness to take the time to gain the needed knowledge and understanding of lives outside of their own bubble. Back to the main comment, I understand completely why Willie would have more liberal views, his father spent much of his career talking to people who were outside of the mainstream and embracing their differences instead of passing judgement on them for being different. Finding joy in the differences instead of fearing those differences has, unfortunately, become a defining factor in political views. Instead of balancing each other out (Liberals being innovative and Conservatives keeping them grounded, as well as Conservatives maintaining traditions while Liberals keep them from becoming inflexible in those traditions are a couple of ways that balance has worked) they are increasingly being pulled in opposite directions, causing rifts that grow wider as people see compromise as a dirty word.

Not sure what being a liberal democrat has to do with being someone’s father.
