Goldberg was a dominant character. They say sports entertainment is comprised of faces, heels, and other, less distinguishable characters, but Goldberg was distinguished by his dominance.
Be it things like Worldwide, Pro, or Shotgun and Jakked in WWF, I always liked the C and D shows more. Probably because they'd air Saturday morning or Saturday late night, and it was the one chance to watch a big company at a time that wasn't prime time.
I remember watching this match on Tv. He was an asset then, and heck! Goldberg's career in wrestling events ..Goldberg is the ICONIC MOVEMENT OF WWE/WWF, WCW, TNA, UFC. Undisputed in just about all arena's events.
Pretty bad squash match but better as I expected for world wide and Goldberg.. But damn was he charismatic hated most of his matches but this silent gladiator like character was awesome Great upload!
nah, this was like a late saturday night, weekly televised on cable event. it’s where WCW show cased their new wrestlers... hence, why the spear was botched.
vs. "The Colorado Kid" Mike Rapada. The Observer reported that Mike Rapada (Colorado Kid) walked out on the promotion after a match in Orlando at the tapings where Scott Hall was really rough on him.
LOL I knew Mark "Starr" (his brother was from the isle of Tazmania LMAO, Chris Champion). He and his brother were from the Port Tampa area. What's funny is, Mark might have gotten beat on wrestling all the time, but the dude could fight in real life. He would kick Bill Goldberg's ass in a real fight.
A lot of these Goldberg walk through matches give me Rememory Spells from Sunday mornings when Dick the Bruiser would demolish journeymen and rookie wrestlers. Grandmama used to say they COULDN'T have gotten paid enough.
In 1999 I stood in line in the broiling sun for a chance to meet this man. In real life he is a huge animal rights activist and my wife and I love him for that. Plus, I love his character in the ring. When it came time to snap a photo of Bill and myself, my wife tried to discreetly get out of the way. Bill, gently put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her back in so that she could be in the photo. I still have it today. I only got to talk with him for a few seconds because the line of people waiting to meet him was enormous. He was such a nice man. He and Andre the Giant are my two favorite wrestlers ever.
@@786yousufkhan I do feel very lucky to have met him. He was there to raise $$$ for sick children if my memory is correct...not 100% certain. I bought a life-size cardboard standee of Bill and he autographed it. It set me back around $40-45 which seemed like a LOT in 1999. I still have it as well.
Las luchas del gran Golberg, son buenas, los rivales siempre son de su talla. Esta vez es absurdo ver subtitulos, casi media pantalla. En todo caso no publiquen. videos
wow, didnt know he had spear jackhammer and who's next that early in his career, didnt even know he was in wcw that far back in 1997. thought he got there in 98 or 99. hogan got there i think it was 94 or 96 to wcw if i recall from articles ive read so he wasnt that far behind hogan getting there. really surprised his first match was defeating hugh morris, he used to be a really upper tier guy and no laughing matter was one of those finishers that just put people away lights out you knew it was pretty much guaranteed 3 count match over no kickouts coming, and gold berg just powered out of it and then did a back flip behind hugh's back showing off like he was a cruiserweight instead of a heavy weight and then he also did a submission hold in that first match i just watched after looking it up in google search. yet people were still saying in 2000-2001 when wcw shut down that he only had power game and only had 2 moves and wwe was doing that stupid "gilberg" crap etcetera, people don't realize how athletic and versatile goldberg really was.
Love wcw at this time but you can already see the cracks that made them crumble. Hyping up Goldberg being in WW3 and then he’s not even in the event lol.
Goldberg at this time up to 2004 would whippp Brock Lesnar ass. Brock got his ass whipped if he could not man handle his Challenger in UFC. Brock could not man handle Goldberg even on steroids.

@ALEX 3121 You're right. I think he was meant to be a heel when he started, but he started getting cheers so they just went with it. I remember the very early reaction to him was that he was a "bad guy," at least upon his debut.
that's not a spear that a shoulder takedown if you hear the commentator......................or i think you don't know goldberg break's the rib of ortan in 2003 with spear........................keep watching roman spear kid...................
