Aidensfield's Greengrass, Bill Maynard, singing 'Heartbeat' This track is available on itunes, amazon, etc..!! / billmaynardfan Click the like button on his official Facebook page!
Its been over 10 years now since it finished, how long time flies. I could've sworn the last ep of HB was in 2009, but apparently it was in 2008. It still gets repeated on ITV4. The thing that annoys me though is that they never repeat the earlier series when Greengrass was in it, and in the earlier series going back to the Nick Berry days. Have they got something against Bill that they don't want to show episodes with him in?. Is it a copyright issue or something?. Every ep they show they only go back as far as 2001, even the Mike Bradley episodes rarely get shown. I find the latter series awful and repetitive. No wonder they axed it. As much as I loved Heartbeat it had gone on too long.
You may already know, Heartbeat is currently being shown on Sky channel 119 ITV3, which started with the first series and Nick Berry. Although he isn’t in it on the current series, Bill Maynard still is 👍👍
Heartbeat is on TVO in Ontario Canada. It’s been there from the very beginning of the show . They show all the series including the ones with Nick Berry. They go from the first series to the last and then start over again. Even after seeing the shows many times I still enjoy watching them
@@malcolmdivorty6852 apparently it ran until sep 2010 according to wiki....but bill Maynard left in 2000 (can't remember if it was squabbles over payment or just his I'll health (he was 72 at the time after all) Edit he was in some early eps of "the royal"
Love the song by Greengrass! Heartbeat is one of the best shows ever to grace the screen. It was a place I so wish I could have lived! (I'm in Canada but I dream). Thanks for letting me join this group. I love anything Heartbeat.
I have just spent 12 days in Aidensfield. And I can tell you this: Friendly people, good hospitality, clean air (I am Norwegian and live in an area with 5 times thr Goathland, which is the real name of Aidensfield, population), lots of sheep who walk in the street free as the two legs ones! I agree I could had lived there for a while. 12 days wasn't enough, but that was all I had. I was there for Heartbeat and all the souvenirs they had and when I booked the rooms for my holiday I would love to stay both at the Glendale house (the first sergary of Alex Ferrenby and Dr Rowan) and Goathland hotell (Aidensfield Arms) I also booked the holiday to be there when Bill Maynard was turning 90 years old, which he sadly didn't reach, after passing away half a year later. There are lots of souvenirs from Heartbeat at the village that contains Aidensfield Stores and the other shops. The Tea room spoils you with their food. At least is what I think. The waterfall is about 10-15 minutes to walk from the village. It's lovely to go there shooting pictures and just enjoy it, not just the waterfall itself but also on the way to it. I was there for 12 days and I wanted to see a whole a lot more than I did. I got a cold there, so my trips whith the steam trains, to Whitby and more were things I had to give a miss, but still if I was well all the time, I wouldn't had reached everything. So if you are a heart beat fan and love souvenirs I would say go for 3 weeks at the least. I also dreamt of moving down to Aidensfield. Somehow I would love to do, but when I was there, I wasn't sure what to think. Sometimes I would love to live there, other times I felt like it was a once in a lifetime experience. Now I have been at home for a short week, and yes, I would love to go back once..... but living there....??? I don't know.....
I loved Green grass. He was my favorite character. What an adorable old rascal he was. The sergant made me laugh .He'd get so frustrated with him ." Grrreeeen Grassss ! !! "
@@alexlazebat839 Ah ok apologies I always thought he didnt have one, I really wouldnt know (just remember an interview once when the narrastor said he wasn't born with one, least thats what I seem to remember) lol
Same here, would always watch it with my parents when I was about 10 or 11. I’m 20 now and have recently started watching them again, brings back many memories
Loved watching that show growing up as a kid, all thanks to Claude Jeremiah Greengrass (aka Bill Maynard). In fact, he WAS Heartbeat. But I had no idea his version of this song was released as a CD single in 1994 until only recently. I would seriously buy this wherever I can get it, he has that distinguished gravelly singing voice like Joe Cocker. :)
That my friends, in my opinion is the very best version of this piece of music. The programme took me back to my teens, the police were accurately portrayed and the characters represented the people with whom I associated all those years ago. Fabulous piece of music. KoolJeeRap thank you.
The wonderful Bill Maynard! The Lord welcome your soul into heaven for an eternity. God bless you for every joyous moment you've given to us. Thankyou.x
I remember Bill Maynard as 'The Sweater Boy' on TV in the 50's.Only one channel then ,the now dreaded BBC !! He used to sing then and he recorded for Decca Records. Any one remember ?
