At 81. I've had a 42-year marriage of magical moments. This song reminds me of those years with the most beautiful girl in the world. My only wish is that I could do it again and not change a thing.
This is an AMAZING duet, Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes are an awesome duo. Jennifer is one of the greatest female vocalists ever. Sadly, despite atleast 3 Oscar nominations for Best Original Song, it seems she was deemed "not attractive enough", and never truly achieved the recognition she deserved. Jennifer WAS beautiful, true class, no pretense, a role model for all female singers. This song always makes me cry, even when I'm not watching the film. Most deserved oscar win for best original song EVER. I wish more people knew about this amazing singer, beyond Dirty Dancing.
She earlier in 1983 had a #1 with Joe Cocker "Up Where We Belong" from the soundtrack of another memorable film "An Officer and a Gentlemen." Her best-known solo hit was 1979's "I Know A Heartache When I See One," notable for setting at the time the slowest climb ever into the Top 40, taking 21 weeks to get into that.
When you listen to this song. It is simply wonderful. Whether you listen to it from Bill Medley's voice or Jennifer Warnes voice. Both match so well. I guess that was why it was such a huge hit. great, timeless song.
First time that I saw them perform this song. It’s such an uplifting song sung with flair. They were really great together and they seemed to be really enjoying the song and each other! Great job!
Love that Bill had his success with this wonderful song. So often he had been in the shadow of the incredible Bobby Hatfield, his partner in the Righteous Brothers, and together they were probably the best duo of all time. Bill's personality shines through here with Jennifer Warner and after Bobby, she is the perfect voice to team with Bill's deep growling baritone.
Wusste bis jetzt nicht, dass Bill diesen Song mit singt.😮 Sie singt auch gut. Komnte man sich aber denken, wenn man jetzt richtig hin hört.😅 Liebe den Film.😊
I saw Jennifer Warnes live when she appeared with Peter Yarrow and friends at Ravinia in Chicago. WONDERFUL! P.S. - I found it endearing that these two just couldn't seem to keep from dancing, even in the small space.
Fantastic!!! No swearing , no vulgarities , you can’t see what she had for breakfast, she’s more sexy fully clothed anyway. music should have stayed in this age!!
US Top of The Pops? Bill looks that uncle that will show you he still got it Both of them had magical voices. They blend together so great. Thank-You two for this great song!
I remember seeing this performance on tv. It was after I graduated hs. Both great talents, both fantastic voices! They seem to be having so much fun in this performance. So much energy! Love it! Thank you for posting!
If you paid attention when Dirty Dancing came out you could feel that this was truly the end of movies that displayed any type of real home moral value. A lot had already happened throughout the 80's but towards the end that was it.
J. Warnes kind of looks like Iola Boylan from Mama's family. ... yep, I love Mama! She's beautiful anyways!!! I've always loved her powerful voice. It's clear, pronounced, and just simply elegant.
