I just spent a week there camping, like I do every year. It's my piece of Heaven on Earth! Thank God for Bill Monroe, his generosity and good spirit. So many people have had successful careers from him giving them help and support throughout the years. Such a beautiful place he left for all to enjoy. ❤

seen dozens of rock icons, stones, the who, pink Floyd, aerosmith, lynyrd skynyrd, john prine, johnny winter, kiss, rush, etc etc but NOBODY had this man's STAGE PRESENCE, not kidding, and I got to talk to him at BEANBLOSSOM 1981, met MR KENNY BAKER too, friend of mine tried to sell him a fiddle, told MR BAKER he's had it appraised for 2K, MR BAKER said kindly, son it's not bad but not worth that to me, BROTHER BIRCH was still alive then for comic relief, now i'll admit, 8 to 10 hrs. of nothing but BLUEGRASS will kinda wear you down but this trip is on my "REVERSE BUCKET LIST" for SURE

Saw Big Mon twice and after the second gig, in South Carolina, I got to shake his hand. A fabulous American artist!

Just went to Bean Blossom '18 and watched the Thurs lineup. Sat in the shade and relaxed all afternoon. Ricky Skaggs headlined Thurs and was flawless, talked alot about his first trip to the festival and about being there w Keith Whitley, Bill Monroe, The Stanley's and JD Crowe over the years, it made for an awesome experience, the first time I went got to see Ralph Stanley and Bobby Osborne which will forever be engraved into my memory.....

I was at this show but we was in the parking lot jamming. Us musicians had seen Bill and heard his music so much that we didn't go to the stage area to see him much. Now I wish that I had gone every time to see him. Hindsight at its best...

Plenty of nostalgia (and that wonderful, relaxed Bean Blossom vibe) here along with all the great pickin' & singin'! Nice to see Bill's playful side, which was never all that far beneath the surface. Thanks so much!

Wow! this is So awesome!!! I'm Mark Hembree's (the bass player) daughter. Do you have any more footage of my dad? I was a year old when this was filmed. I got a kick out of Mr. Monroe giving my dad a hard time about being from Wisconsin. Thanks for sharing!
