@richardmcdaniel737

@jhayveonnewalker1916
@jhayveonnewalker1916 9 лет назад
richard mcdaniel No shit they have a lack of belief. But yes, Atheist think nothing came from nothing than it exploded into a process in what we call our universe.
@richardmcdaniel737
@richardmcdaniel737 9 лет назад
Yeah, except science does not say the universe came from nothing nor do people who believe science say the universe comes from nothing.
@jhayveonnewalker1916
@jhayveonnewalker1916 9 лет назад
richard mcdaniel Of course it doesn't say that. But when it comes down to it, science can't explain where ANY of this truly originated from. Like dark matter or the atoms. So goes with the assumptions that it was just "there". So I can safely say, that atheist believe everything came from nothing.
@TacoTurbulence

My Little Brony Fan Not to be a schlong or anything, but it's not like that is any different than a random sky fatty creating the entire universe in six days. And also, it's not "In the beginning, there was nothing.... Then it exploded!!!!" as you say. The universe was theorized to be compacted in a space very small to you and me, and then released all its energy and expanded. This can be observed today by powerful telescopes, that tell us that the universe is STILL expanding and will continue to do so. Any questions?

People Are also saying who created God. Since there's no time for God only for humans. God said " I am the past, present and future." And since there is no time to him than at what point of time would someone create him if theres no time? Also how the bible doesn't have facts It also said that the earth is round and flouts in the middle of no where. When that was stated people still believed that tutrles held the earth and it was flat. It also said that one drop of blood shows the whole map of your body, he's talking about DNA. And that was just proven in the early 20th century.

wheelie w "The fact is science doesn't create the laws of the universe it only discovers how they work." Is not finding the origination and complexity of how something is created a fact or law? The bible is nothing more than a written law of bigotry created by some mad fanatic, while science is, "a branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws" which is knowledge gained through observation and experimentation.

Guillermo Mas I understand science just fine - please show life coming from non-life, which is the belief Bill is addressing in part of his video, not just "it happened (probably..most likely..because I said so)"
@GuilleMas
@GuilleMas 9 лет назад
ForumLight "I understand science just fine - please show life coming from non-life" The moment you say "life coming from non-life" you are probing you don't understand science. The basis of the hypothesis of "life coming from non-life" is that before life existed on Earth, all we could find on Earth were mineral and organic compounds. So, if you want to discuss the validity of "life coming from non-life", first describe what ould be found on Earth 3.000.000.000 years ago, before life started, that you would not consider "non-life"
@ForumLight
@ForumLight 9 лет назад
Guillermo Mas Try again, friend. At some point life did not exist. And the belief is hence "life came from non-life". So you cannot show it? I rest my case. Now you want to pretend "well what is life" or "what is non-life" and so on. Obfuscation of a most obvious fact. Has anyone seen life come about when there was no life before? No. End of story. So now distortion and obfuscation is all evolutionists can throw in the mix to try to pretend that very thing has been observed and is science. Behold the anti-science of evolutionists. You're being deceived, friend.
@GuilleMas
@GuilleMas 9 лет назад
ForumLight "So you cannot show it? I rest my case" And your case is... Part of my case is that you have no case. "Has anyone seen life come about when there was no life before?" So, how did life start on Earth?

What im triying to explain is that science doesnt have all the answers today, and probably it'll never unravel all the misteries of the universe, but with work and thinking well finally someday know the understandable misteries of our world.

One thing to all the atheists here trying to hate on religious people, one question. How is belief in a god without proof any different than denial of a god without proof?
@michaelrocks123100
@michaelrocks123100 9 лет назад
for one, it's not denial, it's disbelief. calling it denial gives the impression that you are 100% correct without a doubt. second, god is an unfalsifiable claim. almost all claims like this generally aren't taken seriously. like if i told you an elephant ran through my front door and all around my house, yet there wasn't a shred of evidence to prove that, would then you need proof to not believe it? no, because there is no proof to the claim, so you'd assume that there never was an elephant and that's what god is, a claim. god is not an established fact as many would like to think, and not believing in one is simply looking at the people who believe in one with no proof, and saying "hey, they don't have any proof, why do they think they're right? i bet chances are they're not right" i forget, but someone once said "a claim without proof can be dismissed without proof", and that really sums it up. aside from god, give me an example elsewhere where this would not apply, because as far as i know, that's a pretty accurate statement
@FlareSorrow45
@FlareSorrow45 9 лет назад
michael dick You've basically summed up what evolution is, good job. We don't have any REAL proof of evolution that could lead the world to believe that evolution is fact. Evolution is unfalsifiable as well. We do not have proof that evolution actually exists. Also, sure, you can call it disbelief, I'll stick to denial.

***** we've observed evolution on a micro, and to some extent a macro level, not just theorized it. the theory come in when we dig up fossils all around the world leaving all kinds of evidence that we've used to piece together the theory of evolution. also, do you know what the difference between a normal theory and a scientific theory is?
@michaelrocks123100
@michaelrocks123100 9 лет назад
***** first off, read this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolutionary_medicine i don't care how much of it you read, but it gives the basic run down of what we use evolution for in modern medicine, such as antibiotics, cancer, and autoimmune disease and secondly, being that we are all animals, why do you think other animals could evolve into different animals, but not into humans? also, because this is relevant, how old do you think the earth is?

It makes perfect sense to why Bill Nye would do this. Think back to when he first started making "Bill Nye the Science Guy" he wanted to make the younger generations more educated and informed about science and all that so that we could progress the human race as we all got older and start to lead and become the brains behind this country(US). And he did that through being funny and doing and saying wacky stuff to get us to pay attention and learn, because thats what we were interested in back in the day. Now a days kids are on their phones, instagram, vine, snapchat all the time and the way they make it interesting is with emojis. He's just appealing to the kids in ways they understand and I respect you for that Mr. Nye. You do you buddy, you do you.

I don't know where Mr. Nye is, but it honestly looks like the most fun place in the world! Look at those colorful vials behind him! And all the experiments going on in the background. I never been in an actual science lab before (besides my school version), but it looks like fun.

Ah, yes, I knew that was coming... "time time time..." Because the non-existent actual mechanisms that would be, you know, PROOF of increasing complexity, can't be explained but only *imagined* to happen when you throw in the mental "time" part of the recipe. A frog turning into a prince *immediately* is called magic, but a frog turning into a prince over *time time time,* is "science."

Does anyone know the credentials of Nye? He is a mechanical engineer. He is not a scientist. Why do they show science videos of him in public schools when he is not a scientist? He is not a biology major.

I gotta give him credit for saying all stuff with a straight face. "Some how", "probably" doesn't strike one as very sciencey. Fun math problem: Take the # of phenomenon required to bring about the first one cell organism + the # of transitional forms from that cell to a Steve Jobs. Divide 4.54 billion by that figure. If you offer a conservative figure of 2 million transitional events from molecules to man, then you need only 2,000 years for a FAVORABLE improvement to occur. Science shows that favorable mutations don't come very easily, if fact, we have yet to witness just one.

God told Job in 1500 B.C.: "Can you send lightnings, that they may go, and say to you, Here we are?" (Job 38:35). The Bible here is making what appears to be a scientifically ludicrous statement-that light can be sent, and then manifest itself in speech. But did you know that radio waves travel at the speed of light? This is why you can have instantaneous wireless communication with someone on the other side of the earth. Science didn’t discover this until 1864 when "British scientist James Clerk Maxwell suggested that electricity and light waves were two forms of the same thing" (Modern Century Illustrated Encyclopedia).

So, Mr Nye's explanation of evolution begins with "probably" and "somehow". You simply cannot argue with facts like that.
@eldnitj

The prophet Isaiah also tells us that the earth is round: "It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth" (Isaiah 40:22). This is not a reference to a flat disk, as some skeptic maintain, but to a sphere. Secular man discovered this 2,400 years later. At a time when science believed that the earth was flat, is was the Scriptures that inspired Christopher Columbus to sail around the world (see Proverbs 3:6 footnote).

I used to watch Bill Nye as a kid (much like Mr. Wizard) and I thought they were cool and smart. They still are. I learned a lot from them. But the most important lessons I learned when I watched my two sons being born. I lost my mom in Sep. of 2007. She was 47 and a life long smoker. Then I remembered something I heard when I was watching, of all things, Fullmetal Alchemist. And it all made sense to me. : )

Bills sole purpose is to make science as easy to understand as possible, where if parents don't want to believe it thats fine...but children are receptive, children ask " why " way more than adults, perhaps that video will set some curious children on their path to la lifetime of learning

Nobody "believes" in evolution. Belief is for things that don't have any evidence. Rather, people who "believe" in evolution actually accept the enormous amount of observations, data, and experiments which *all* confirm the hypothesis. There is no controversy. There is just reality, and then those who deny reality.

The great biological truth concerning the importance of blood in our body’s mechanism has been fully comprehended only in recent years. Up until 120 years ago, sick people were "bled," and many died because of the practice. If you lose your blood, you lose your life. Yet Leviticus 17:11, written 3,000 years ago, declared that blood is the source of life: "For the life of the flesh is in the blood."

Evolution: - The stuff happens, magical serendipity, theory of "science". - The circular reasoning "science". - The apophenia "science". - The pareidolia "science". - The "just add water" to create anything and everything "science". - The false extrapolation "science" - The could have, must have, might have, possibly, let us assume "science" - The earth mommy did it "science" - The imaginary links "science" ... Indeed. Right on par with emojis as "science".

"At the most fundamental level; it's a miracle that there's a universe at all. It's a miracle that it has order, fine-tuning that allows the possibility of complexity and laws that follow precise mathematical formulas. Contemplating this an open minded observer is almost forced to conclude that there must be a "mind" behind all this. To me that qualifies as a miracle, a profound truth that lies outside of scientific explanation." Francis S. Collins
