All the time, really? You are a banana! Or if your saying you throw gutter shots "All the Time". Then yes the puns still stand. There are Books written by an Author Dumas! Dumb ass!!
I've bowled many games over the years and I had one instance similar to this... If you're a bowler you know that sometimes you have a light hit and the headpin hits the side and then slides across and takes out the 5 pin... I had the head pin come back across in a standing position, hits and takes out the 5 pin, but remained standing in the 5 pin position... thanks for the video...
Mine happened in league two weeks ago. Came in pretty high and the 2 came off the wall into the 4 and 7, resulting in the 4 sliding about two inches to the right of the spot for the 9.
I'd say that's 300 game I was watching the video the pin fell by itself therefore recording that 300 to the USBC but do even know if that was even a sanctioned game?
Years ago in Washington I was bowling with a guy who had a perfect game going. First shot in the 10th, same thing happened to him that happened in the video. All the pins fell down but one amazingly popped back up. He hit the spare, then struck again. Crazy. He called it his 301 game.
I wanted to see his reaction to when he turned around and saw it standing up. It looked like he had his back turned when the pin landed in a standing position.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious he isn't aware of what happened when he turned around after the shot. That would have been one of the best ever WTF expressions lol.
If anything? It's a fluke occurrence? No one is going to take away a strike if all of the pins have started falling? And then one pin bounces back upright? This is such a stupidass gripe to keep having. Sighhhh
Are you saying it’s still counted as a strike? I can’t tell from the way you worded your post. If that’s what you think, you’re wrong. If any pins are still standing in the deck, whether they fall and bounce back upright or slide halfway across the lane, it isn’t a strike. The big problem if the rack knocks it over is determining where the stubborn pine CAME from, as it needs to be set on that spot.
The best bowling throw I ever saw was on a Saturday afternoon ABC tv when Dell Ballard only needing a few pins to win threw a gutter ball. It’s unforgettable.
After that the commentators referred to a gutter ball as a "Ballard Ball", as in "He's got the match locked up. All he has to do is not throw a Ballard Ball."
Bowling is not something so extraordinary that one must feel the need to lie about it to seem impressive. Jeez, guys, cut this man a break lol. Y'all over here saying he's lying like he's one of those YT commenters talking about how many decades they've been a martial artist or how they study rocket science. He sucks because he never seen a pin do a flip and land back in its original position? You guys must have some magical bowling alley antics going on where you're from.
Yes but that is illegal for at least two different reasons. Here (although they are just practising) that is a 9 count and as rare as hen's teeth, I've never seen it before in 55 years of bowling. Bill just walks away as if nothing happened, perhaps he didn't even see it!
Have thrown a shot that crushed pocket, the 4 pin slid across the lane, straight upstanding position, took out the 10, and then stood where the 10 was, so spare was actually a 10 pin shot.
Funny I should see this comment now, when I worked at a bowling alley last year there was a day that I did this for fun during league (I worked in the back) and did this for a solid 30-40 minutes straight. I landed it one time. Never again. Boss wouldn’t even pull up the camera to let me prove that I did it
That is not correct. The pin setter will come down and get stuck in place. The pin deck is cleared of dead wood, pin setter will be manually overridden, and the sweep gate brought up so the spare shot can be attempted. Check the rules.
I've seen this happen once in a bowling league game, people tell me I'm full of it when I describe it, I've been waiting to find this video to have proof. It's got to be a 1 in a billion chance, sliders happen, but exploded pins landing upright has got to be incredibly rare.
I would argue this just like football... Once your down you can't get back up and run the ball, The pin tapped out it's over! The head of the pin touched the boards it's over! That's a Strike!
In about 1965 I was a "scorer" at the men's Minnesota Championships in Duluth. Regular guy does the exact same thing. The arguing went on for ten minutes about it being a strike or not. (he missed the one pin spare)
+Lynn Morrison Got to watch my father throw one like this. Kicked the 5 pin off the left side, just clipped the gutter right and hopped right back up in almost a perfect 5-pin position. We all loved it, him, not so much.
Last week in league, I had what looked like a flush pocket shot, the 5 pin spun like a top, straight upright and while spinning, moved right over into the 10 pin spot. It was the most incredible thing any of us in league have ever seen. Absolutely crazy.
Pretty much the same happened to me once in league several years ago. The only difference was that the pin that stood back up actually bounced back out of the pit.
U.S.B.C. Rule 7 - Pins 7a. Improperly Set It is each player’s responsibility to determine if a setup is correct. The player shall insist that any pin(s) incorrectly set be respotted before delivering the ball, otherwise the setup is deemed to be acceptable. When bowling at a full setup or to make a spare, if it is discovered immediately after the delivery that one or more pins are set improperly, but not missing, the delivery and resulting pinfall count. No change can be made in the position of any pin(s) left standing after the bowler’s first delivery, unless: 1. The pinsetter moved or misplaced any pin(s), or 2. Any standing pin(s) is (are) outside the range of the sweep bar. Any such pin(s) will be respotted where it (they) originally stood before the delivery. 7b. Rebounding Pins that rebound and stand on the lane must be counted as standing pins
A "perfect strike" ... Looked to be very light and mixed the pins. Not a strike that didnt count either....a "strike" would have been a strike. It never was a strike becasue there was a pin standing (no matter how or why) when the pinsetter came down. Had to shoot the spare?.... Looked a lot like warmups to me!
What?! I would say I knocked down 10 pins then it's a strike! I don't care if the pin got knocked up and jammed into the pin setter after that, and reset on the lane. Once they all fall "Strike!" So if I was the first car past the quarter mile line in a drag race and then I reversed over it, would I lose?
Ive seen that at Nationals before also. The pair next to oura the bowler had the front 8, and the ninth ball a pin came out of the back and stood back up.
