yes--Bill Payne SHOULD be in The R&R Hall of Fame given the body of work he has done over the years with SO many artists--His contribution to music is unparalleled!!!

Bill Payne and all the rest of Little Feat deserve recognition by enshrinement in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They have been going on like the energizer bunny and just keep evolving. Their repertoire is absolutely amazing. My wife and I have followed them on their trips through the Northwest several times & every night it's a new show. They are all good people and more than willing to talk. Bill Payne is immensely talented and he has worked long & hard to take that talent higher.

Little Feat really never got the credit they deserve for being one of most unique sounding bands for 4 decades ...they had and still have that funky cajun groove ,and besides losing Lowell George they kept going on without changing the core members ,I know Ritchie Haywards drumming style is what I tried (just tried) to emulate as a drummer ,Hayward is in a class by himself, and so are Payne and the others

No one plays piano like this Man, Period. Phenomenal, and one of a kind. If you played me a hundred parts, I could pick out Bill's in a second.

i'm mostly a fretboard player; but get transfixed by Bill Payne whenever he cuts loose. On Dixie Chicken he takes us all to Memphis the way Randy Newman would.

Billy is an amazing individual and incredible keyboardist. He should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a sideman, if not with his band Little Feat. The people he has played with over the years is a who's who of Rock and Roll.

I worked with all the guys in Little Feat back in the 70's. They were always at the Alley in North Hollywood. Lowell was an incredible and approachable guy, Paul on Guitar, Richie on drums, Clayton on the conga's and Bill Payne on the keyboard. Some the the best musical days of my life. I miss them very much. To Lowell, Paul and Richie....May God continue to hold you in the hollow of His loving hands...rest in peace.

I respect Bill so much as a player, his skills bring him to the level of the Best in his field... Loved 'em Live... I gained so much inspiration from the whole band & borrowed a lick or 10 from them.. back in 'bout '89 Let It Roll was released and I was so glad to see the band back and sounding great. I missed Lowell but was so glad to the guys playing again and appearently having a Ball if the Video is any indication. I just wanted to say I really like theis band, they are among my Top 10 Favs

I did a guest DJ show at a radio station playing just songs that Billy Payne played on. The range of songs was from The Doobie Brothers, Meatloaf, Bob Seger, James Taylor, Toto, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt and more. It is unbelievable that the idiots that nominate and induct artists into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame don't recognize Billy's contribution to Rock and Roll. He should be in there as a "sideman". There are so many great songs that his playing has graced.

True dat Bill Burgess. 1969 was the summer of Woodstock and for me it was the summer of training in the Army before being sent to Germany (instead of Vietnam) Don'tcha love the stories of Billy Payne?

Bill is a little confused, The Summer of Love was in 1967 NOT 1969 as he stated...by 1969 the world was busting at it seams, and love had long passed by....but 1967 was indeed a very spiritual, magical year...it brought people together feom all over the world to explore a brand new conciousness that was taking place...for a few brief months in 1967, the hippies really believed that change was in the air....it was brief, but it was a very magical time.

I’m amazed he has never been a full time member of the Grateful Dead , tho that position (keyboards) is quite the taboo position. His style and approach is tailor made for their music . Maybe it’s a good thing he’s never been in the GD - he may not be alive today

Bill Payne is a real great keyboardist - sadly very underrated in public - and obviously the best instrument player in Little Feat, far better than Lowell with his bottleneck guitar
