Record labels are still necessary for budget setting, industry connections, and marketing an artists brands because let’s be honest, there’s A LOT of recording artists that are either clueless to the music industry or they are ignorant and lazy to go do the work themselves. That’s when the label or some entity comes in to help.

@@aminsabatay8091still, a lot of artist can't be famous because they don't wanna do the social media short format bs all the time and cant afford the marketing so if you plan into becoming a superstar well you'll need a label to hold you even if you can still start small and stay like that or take the leap of faith and sign

Record labels are obsolete. They were good when you had physical product. Now all you need is a sight manager to book shows and set stages. Everything else can be done through dropshippers.

Certain company pay a lot of music ney to push their musicians on radiostations and pay money to boycot certain musicians from becoming bigger then their musicians. It is so corrupt!!!!!! Bilboard is also corrupt. Sad but true!!!! The same as in my country The Netherlands

True they do not get a return on many of their investments. Record labels are paying the money and taking most of the risk. Yet the profits they earn from just one major band is enough to cover thousands upon thousands of bands they did not get a return on. They are NOT losing money. UMG earned $1.3 billion in 2021. Its total revenue increased by 17% which is pretty common for them.

Well well well well well I have a question if anybody can answer it for me please do what the hell is a project tracker and why does an A&r need one and why does a an artist have to pay money to get a project tracker please somebody let me know because I got hit up to be on a record label but they need a a project tracker I don't understand that please if they're pulling my leg and bullshiting please somebody let me know cuz I don't want to be caught up in a trap don't know much about these record labels but I know that they got some funny things going on so please anybody can help me what the hell is a project tracker and what is an A&r need one and why does a artist have to for the label when the label has money to purchase them for the artist
