Dipper is abandoned by his own family and makes a deal with the all powerful dream demon Bill Cipher that if he wants he can live with Bill but in return he must destroy the journals. He agrees and destroys the three journals that his grate uncle Ford made containing all Gravity Fall’s secrets. This is two years after the events of the show when dipper is 15
