SEM makes a matte black trim spray paint that can give you that consistency on your black plastics that you're shootin' for. It holds up in the hot engine area just fine too. SEM makes it and its called trim black. I have an older Ram 3500 that looks new as far as the plastic goes. Their plastic doesn't stay looking new for long, but this stuff does the trick
black with the purple is the best brother .. otherwise there's too much purple and you run the risk of having too many SHADES of purple in that engine bay :) you're a brave man though my ocd wouldn't allow me to make a balsy decision to buy the colored BT accents lol I ordered the clear satin to be safe haha looks great though !!
I personally would paint valve covers gloss black with purple agents (much like it is now). But paint the intake manifold purple to match. Then paint that silver aluminum life in the front black
I drive a redline red scat pack and I got to say the mods are looking good! What you should do is make as much purple as you can, that way when you open the hood you get a better wow effect on people. Just my thoughts. Good luck and have fun.
purple brake calipers, also purple out the green screws on the intake, maybe do something with the coolant or the fill so that the color is purple. The car definitely looks great tho
Maybe consider getting purple plasti dip, or maybe just normal spray paint, it's not really a part that gets a lot of wear. Love your changes to your scat pack, definitely my favorite one I've seen. I honestly hate the new Chargers, but the more I see yours the more it grows on me.
I'd say go with black and purple. I feel like there would be to much purple under the hood if all of the valve cover is purple. I feel if it is black with purple accents it has nice contrast.
Looks good, I would say gloss black with the purple accents that would look good. Although the purple with black wouldn't look bad but I'm afraid it would too much purple.
Start the set screws into the caps before putting the caps on would make it much easier to start the screw. Of course don't turn the screw so far that it would hamper the installation of the caps.
RILEY, THIS LOOKS GREAT, I HAVE A 2016 SRT CHALLENGER IN PLUM CRAZY PURPLE WITH THE BILLET TECHNOLOGY'S UNDER HOOD KIT IN PURPLE. I AM STILL NOT SURE ABOUT THE ENGIN COVERS EATHER. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO WHAT YOU FIGURE OUT.
Riley: you might want to get that oil cap set screw installed. Remove the cap, and work it in there. I thought the same thing as you - it's on there tight, and isn't going anywhere. It will loosen up. I opened my hood one day, and mine was gone! Bounced right off and out of the engine bay, I guess. :(
Looks good! I have a met. granite 15 model and will be doing the same stuff. They don't have a matching color kit but I'll do something. I'm thinking satin to match the Drake strut Brace. Thanks for the Video and enjoy your ride. I love mine!
I would do the satin black like what you are thinking of doing and the shock tower caps do them the same satin black. Keep up the great vids. Mopar or no car!
Hey man, where did you get the custom Oil Dipstick? (I used to go by OklahomaD, I'm an OG) (You also convinced me to get my mid-muffler delete (results on my channel.)
Looks nice. Not so hot on the "Cold Air" Intake mod. The stock air box with a K&N Air Filter is probably AT LEAST as effective as any aftermarket combination you can buy and offers MUCH better protection against water intrusion from the hood scoop. Not so the catch can. Required stuff for the 6.4. Otherwise, all good. Love me some Plum Crazy!
Leave the Valve Cover Covers alone the way they are (purple on flat black). The Shock Tower covers might look good in purple, but I doubt I'd mess with them the way they are.
I have all of their caps on my GTO from the limited production run they did for my car. Although they are nice pieces, I wish they would have actually made billet caps, not cap covers (even if that made them more expensive). Granted ive had mine for a few years with no issues but still.
Very nice. Now.....save your money on that hydro dipping of those valve covers, they look good as they are now. Take that saved cash and get a Moroso coolant tank, some Speedlogix coolant tank braided lines and purple fittings, BT purple hood strut covers, BT purple Devo strut bolt covers and a purple water neck housing. Then as a finisher; a visit to West Coast Fasteners website for some of their killer burnt titanium engine bolts (with purple washers) and maybe some black ground spikes.
If you didn't fix your remote start yet, did you check the hood switch by your strut tower brace? The brace install could've messed it up. Just a thought. Car looks great!
Nice Billet pieces. I'm currently waiting on my Billet Technologies Catch Can to show up in the mail. You're right, a definite must have. Just wanted to slightly correct you on the reference IG pic and let you know that my accent color is actually Bright Silver Metallic and not white. I say you go all purple. No such thing as too much purple :) If you want to try something different and don't mind spending the cash, my original idea was to still have the purple as the main color and to Green Envy for the accents. Later found out its a 3 stage paint and would cost another $70 for the Green Envy so I just went with the Bright Silver Metallic. I still may do some Green Envy accents down the road. Keep up the good work man!
My bad man!! I thought it was white but now it makes sense they're silver! Either way it looks great! :) The green would for sure be cool but I'm trying to stick to black/purple with a little bit of red (brembos, badges) so maybe even red would look okay on them. Probably will play it safe though and continue the black/purple theme. Thanks!
All good! You could even do the accents in Gold to play off of your catch can fittings! Sorry, i'm partial to Gold having had Subaru's before. Anyway you cut it you can't go wrong. Excited to see what you end up choosing. Cheers!
Notification squad! 🤘🏼 I'm thinking of ordering a catch can for my hemi from them but I'm still kinda on the fence. A lot of people say that the waiting time is kinda long. Love the vids Riley, keep up the great work!
I think it looks fine at this point. a purple light maybe... how about the radiator reservoir... black out maybe? dam dude... what else can you do? ps... I just finished paying mine... 5.7.. will be going billet dress up soon... my car is white though... grrr... choices choices...
+RP Productions I did too on my fiances durango. The braided lines wouldn't go on all the way. I tried everything and no luck. So I need to find another way. Love your car man, I'm hoping to get one soon.
Also I've asked you this question before but I've done a muffler delete on my Camaro ls1 it sounds loud but will the long tube headers make it a bit louder or a lot louder? I know I've asked you this question but I wanted to ask someone with experience like you thanks.
Hey Riley I think you should get both.. Try them both out for 6 months see which you like better but I say Purple with Black, why not be different it would look tight.. @rp_productions
