Like every good meteorologist Billi’s required to pointlessly stand in the rain for a while when there’s a big storm. It’s the law.

I just love that Mom has her YT award down on the floor at Billi eye-level!

Our cat would go to a different door in the hope it wouldn't be raining that side of the house. My mother always said he blamed us for bad weather.

Totally expected that "Mad" button to get pressed! 🤣

My beloved first cat used to demand to check the back door when it was raining at the front door, hoping for a different result. She always seemed upset to discover rain was everywhere. Bless her. She lived for 20 years and was still going out every day to patrol the garden in her last months.

As much as the buttons helped Billi communicate some of what she was thinking, it's also fair to say that the airplane ears and switching tail also communicated plenty to us.

No mad button press. I was shocked. 😂

Billi needs a raincoat.

My cat used to want the window open when it rained, and sit inside and watch it. Best of both worlds.

HEARTBREAKING: Human REFUSES to turn of weather

Dad would do it. Dad would stand outside holding an umbrella over Billi, like the good servant he is. 😸

Try an old chair with a cheap plastic tablecloth over it. It makes for a simple, but effective 'rain tent' that our cats used to love. Seems to scratch their itch to be outside, while providing a dry place to hang out, even if it's not see-through (they can still smell and hear outside, I guess). Of course since Billi isn't allowed out alone, you'll still be getting wet, but... I can't help with that one.

I love when Cats want something, you let them do it and then when it goes wrong somehow unrelated to you they give the disgusted glare like "how could you let this happen?".

She must've han an important errand to run.

Billi obviously thinks you're a Goddess, capable of weather control. It's kind of a compliment.🌧🌂

My cat when she was younger would meow to go out, then look up at the sky and meow at me in a way that I could tell she was demanding I make the rain go away. Reminded me of a little girl who thinks her dad can do everything and just doesn't want to.

My parents had t shirts made for their retirement so when people asked what they were going to do with their free time, the shirts said it all. “Let the dogs out. Let the dogs in. Let the dogs out” all over 🤣🤗. Billi, you are the kick in the but I needed to learn more about my cat’s intellect. She’s scary smart. We work with some props but mostly me being super attentive to her responses. Sometimes we get into fights yelling at each other 🤭. The neighbors know I’m a little odd.

One of mine led me from one door to the other... front, back, basement and was highly agitated that I kept opening the door on rain.

This reminds me of the Sci-Fi book “The door into summer” by Robert A Heinlein where a the cat, Pete hates to go outdoors into snow.

Too bad you didn't have your phone with you so her fans could see the shenanigans of her smelling and then walking out into the rain and back inside again, but your play-by-play was almost as good to those of us who have been following y’all for a while and can imagine her body language and reactions. 😅 No condemnation meant at all. I’m just spoiled with the fact that you usually do have that phone at the ready, and it’s just me posting my wishful thinking. ❤

The "thinking circles" are so interesting, given how universal they seem to be among button using animals.

Oh dear, same here - my cat often assumes that if he goes out of a different door the rain won't be there after all.

Wow, I'm surprised so that Billie let herself get rained on even that not great amount, but some, and then went back out for more. My one cat growing up was so averse to any water, that even one drop landing on him was INSTANTLY dispensed with via a lightening quick lick. She at least gave it a try. Good for her!

I have been informed by my cat, Pixel, that my service as a sub cat cretin of the opposable thumb persuasion is sub par due to my inability to alter weather patterns.

I used to have a cat that never quite worked out that if it was raining out the front, it would also be raining out the back. He did work out that because of the way the house was built and where the garage was, he could go out the front and then hop up on the thing that was supposed to hold a window box and be completely dry sitting there. He would go out and sit there for maybe 15 minute and then stand up to look through the window, paw at it and meow to be let back in.

Billi is determined to go outside but YUK, it's wet! My cat Meggy was similar. When she saw it was raining out the front door, she made me follow her to the back door to check there -- maybe it wouldn't be raining out the back door. Ug, disappointed! My cats try to get me to change the weather too. If it is raining in the front door, they have to check the back and side doors too. Then they forget that they have already checked the front door and have to check it again. Then they get angry if I just ignore them.

If you try hard enough, that water has to stop - or so she hoped.

Rain brings up smells from the ground, and my cat likes to sit at the door and sniff the "outside smells" too!

I had to do the same thing with my cat today here in Arizona. It's supposed to stop tonight, but the cats are going to be upset next week when it's supposed to rain for several days starting on Tuesday.

I love when they get mad at us for the weather. My cat just got mad at me earlier because it is cold outside, and she can't sit at the screen door and sniff all the smells without getting gusts of cold air in the face. Sorry, I guess? What do you expect me to do about it?!
