It's funny Serena Williams got Green Day to play Disappearing Boy. There's an old concert clip of Green Day where Billie Joe asks the audience what song they want to hear. Billie Joe says: "we'll play anything". Someone in the audience yells "Disappearing Boy" and Billie Joe says: "We're not gonna play that one."

i used to listen to green day in the 90s, and it had been close to 20 years since i listened to them but a couple weeks ago I listened to their album Dookie, and it brought back memories but also I was kind of blown away at how good the melodies are, and every song is different. it gave me a new respect for how good of a musician Billy joe armstrong is even if its just punk rock

This isn't a form I've ever heard about, but yeah... it sounds like that's what he's describing. Not surprising, I guess, given his talent. 🤷‍♂️ I have a friend who sees colors when he hears music. He says the songs that change hue and intensity more are usually the more moving or engaging compositions. Neat stuff!
